C31. Bad Intentions

Pring POV

"Was that Phana's parents?" I ask Lam.

Seeing him talking to his phone earlier,
I am guessing he already updated Phana's parents about their son's condition. Who is currently still unconscious till now, but at least he is not dead.

Contrary to what I initially thought, after seeing him earlier being pull out of the ambulance towards the emergency room.
His face is barely recognizable and his clothes is blood soaked. We really thought he is dead upon arrival. But, as astounding as it may sound, he survived. Which is fortunate for me as I never like funerals or wearing blacks outfits anyways.

"Yes. They are on their way."
Lam simply answered. He did not elaborate any further.

His short reply though made me look at him very briefly as he slumped back into the vacant chair next to me. He avoided my stare. Instead he just look at the foot of Phana's bed, very tiredly.

"That bad huh?" I then asked which he just replied with a simple nod.

I should have not ask but that is so not me. Though their reaction, in my opion, should have also improve by now just like Phana's state. Besides he received a world class treatment and is currently in one of the VVIP's private suites.

"How about you? What did your dad have to say about this?" Lam asked me worriedly.

I only sighed and remained quiet. Lam immediately knew that it was just as bad.
There are no words I can fully describe my dad's reaction on this matter.
He was in disbelief and furious at the same time. Not because Forth beaten up Phana, but because I disturbed him while he is out with his business partners, playing golf.

"How about For----?"
Lam didn't even finish his sentence as I snap at him.

"You think HE would answer MY CALLS?!"
I clenched my fist as the thought of this all infuriates me further.

"That idiot is probably out with his friends drinking like nothing has happened. Meanwhile, I am in the hospital, taking care of his mess!!!!" I said in anger.

I have a ton of appointments today. All canceled because of the troubles Forth has caused our family. I even extend resources and even Bart to look for him. Even if the patient is Phana, with all honestly, this isn't my business to begin with.

It's a good thing our family owned the hospital or else everyone would be held in question. Normal proceedings requires hospitals to inform authories immediately in cases such as unarmed assault. Which in Phana's case is more like an attempted muder already. However not a single investigation or queries was even conducted.

Like always, our legal team is quick in working their magic hands to let this stay under wraps. I just can't imagine if this was lick out for major broadcast. I might be in front of the cameras already. Spouting all the apologies, and showcasing my Oscar's winning crocodile tears.

But, power and money can do every thing. Nothing was left out. Every detail was look into, even the school board has already been settled for him.

However, as Phana's family have been one of my father's closest friends for so many years. My brother's action may cost our dad not just a ton of money but also a leverage of a stock or two. This is the only way possible to maintain our friendship between families and also to ensure that there won't be any future complications.

"Phana is stable anyways. Why don't you go home first? I don't think it's a good idea for you to stay by the time Phana's parents arrive, Pring." Lam said.

"Unfortunately...That is not what my father wants! I need to wait until Forth's ass is within these four corners of this room."
I said in between my gritted teeth.

"He will. Bart will surely find him."
Lam said as he tries to calm me down.

That is not enough assurance though. True enough Bart can easily look for Forth but I doubt if he is capable enough to drag him in here. My father doesn't know his son well enough. I doubt Forth is feeling any remorse over this. Knowing his personality, he won't do it unless he would regret it later.

Sigh...

"I still couldn't believe though that Phana would be in this situation." Lam finally stood up and walk towards the foot of the bed.

"Bart would be the most likely...But Phana? Not in a million years." Lam said in disbelief.

Which is true by the way and the more I think about it. The more that he is making a lot of sense. Phana is indeed always the first one to walk away on sticky situations.

Unless...

Lam finished my thoughts for me.
"Bart may be right about him helping Beam or else Forth would never go wild like this." He said with disappointment in his eyes as he looked at Phana.

I simply shrugged my shoulders. Not to air my disagreement but I don't want to accept it myself as the reason of this all. But Lam read it differently.

"It's most like certainty, Pring. We also been in the bad side of Forth always but neither you, me or Bart has ever been confined to a hospital before." Lam pointed out.

I stood up and walked towards Phana's bed too. I touch his face as I look intently to him. I know what Lam is trying to say but I refused to accept it.

Instead I whisper as I continued to look intently at Phana's handsome face.
"You know I always treasured Phana more than anyone else, right? "

"Yes...but Pring you know all too well you are just like a sister to him." Lam reminded me.

I look at him sharply. He don't need to be that brutal. But it's true that once upon a time I was infatuated to him. He, however, has always brushed off my feelings though he knows all too well I wanted more than his friendship. Good thing I met Park. I got over my feelings that easily.

Nevertheless, it hurt me still when he started drifting away from us these past few days. If he can only offer me his friendship I want his undivided attention.

Everything's change though ever since he started hanging out with those two. He is looking happier compared to the times he is with us and it's making me jealous deep into my bones.

I wanted to ask him now if he is really serious with his friendship with Kit and Beam? Did he really tried helping them get away from Forth? Did he have any feelings for Beam other than friendship? Is he falling in love with him?

But since Phana is deep in slumber I can't ask him any of this questions but...

Someone can obviously!
BEAM BARAMEE!

This is now making a lot of sense. I might be hitting two birds in one stone. I can lure Forth to come in here and make Beam pay for what he did to Phana!

"Call Bart...now!" I look at Lam smiling evilly.

"Why?" Lam swallowed hard.
"I don't like that look of yours."

He knew I'm up with something not good. But I just smile cockily at him.

"When you want to catch a big fish you prepare the bait first. Tell him to look for that worm instead. Forth will surely follow."

Then, I eyed Lam seriously.

"He knows how to prep a worm right?"
