johnny was puking up blood again in the bathroom; the rust color had learned to make its way onto the floor, he'd tried his best to aim for the toilet. his hands were dirty, as they'd been holding on to the toilet seat; cleanliness was the last thought on his mind.
there was blood and digested food all in his hair, by now it had dried and crusted, only to be pushed back behind his ear by the free hand he had with him. his unshaved face had the stubble of his sunflower blonde hair, now dripping into the toilet bowl, the color of a cherry tomato.
the atrocious sound of johnnys hurling and moaning had been just enough to awaken dawson, for him this was nothing but another late night of johnnys symptoms, he felt bad for his younger brother.
worried about his brothers illness and well being, dawson had made it his first priority to make sure johnny didn't choke on his own bodily fluids. he'd rushed down the stairs in the same second that he first heard the whining. he was a good brother.
he quickly made it into the bathroom, just in time, moments before johnny would have passed out on the floor. instead, he was now passed out in his brothers arms, now getting the liquidy chunks all over his older brother, but of course in the moment that didn't bother dawson.
he was carrying johnny into the living room, he didn't weigh very much after all. he lied him down on the couch, propping a few of their ornamental throw pillows under johnny's back and neck , he needed to be propped up incase he began hurling again.
he began to unbutton johnny's flannel shirt, getting puke all over his hands while doing so. of course now, it had been a cold, sticky feeling against his hands, not the warm feeling johnny had been feeling come up into his throat 20 minutes before.
his flannel was now on the floor, and dawson got up from his knees beside the couch and had rushed into the kitchen to grab a few towels he could wipe johnny off with. he turned on the faucet so he could soak another kitchen rag he had in his hands, and began ringing it out so it wouldn't drip all over their freshly installed living room carpet as he carried it back to where johnny was laying.
he began to wipe off his pale brothers face, taking off the blood and the dried food that had been running down his chin. he wiped off his chest as well, picking pieces out of his minimal chest hair.
once he felt as if his little brother was cleaned up enough to satisfy, he went into the storage closet to look for a thin blanket. nothing that would overheat his brother, it was summer after all and their air conditioning was nothing but a joke.
filling up a glass he grabbed out of the cabinet hr could fill up of tap water, he looked at the time on the clock infront of him that read "1:05am". it was midnight and they both had school in the morning, but by the looks of it, johnny might have to skip out on it tomorrow. but realistically, it wasn't likely, his parents were a reckon to be burdened with.
he set the glass on the coffee table beside johnny, knowing if he needed to get up in the middle of the night, he'd have water right there for him. before dawson had headed back upstairs to bed, he decided to place an empty tupperware tub on the floor next to the couch, incase johnny had began throwing up again in the middle of the night, he'd have something other than the furniture to aim for.
sighing as he took one last look at his brother for the night, dawson began back up the stairs and down the dark hallway so he could get some sleep again. hoping on anything that this was the only time he'd have to wake up to attend to his brother for the night.
