This fun little piece was requested by ILYDRACO737 ! Requested with the reader as a Hufflepuff, a friend of Draco and Harry, as well as taking place in their third year, with Darry in the non-war au. Enjoy!

"Mmmm...stupid Potter..." Draco quietly grumbled next to you. You roll your eyes.
"What is it now Draco?" You asked as sweetly as you could muster, given the fact that he wouldn't shut up about your childhood friend Harry. Ever.
"Just look at him!" He quietly exclaimed, gesturing his arm out to Harry. You looked, he was laughing with Ron and Hermione on a bench adjacent to you. "I hate it, it's disgusting!"
           "...Draco. He's laughing."
"Absolutely horrendous, how dare he do that in a public setting, people are trying to study." You sigh.
"Draco if you're having trouble focusing we can move to the library-"
"What?! No way in hell are we moving unless he moves first." Draco exclaimed, then quieted his voice a bit so you could only hear him. His response was too quick for you not to notice, and you felt a small, mischievous smile grace your lips.
"Why's that Draco?" You asked patiently. He stopped.
"Uh...because...because it's a sign of weakness! He'll think I'm a coward if I move first." Draco said, turning back to his book.
"...are you sure it's not because you like him?" You asked in your sweet voice. He dropped the book he was holding, along with his wand and nearly knocked over the pile of books next to him you two had brought to study some potions and defense against the dark arts lessons. His face was bright red but you could tell it wasn't in anger. It was embarrassment.
"I can't believe you, of all people, would imply that I, Draco Malfoy, would be in love with Harry Potter. Haven't you been paying attention (y/n), I hate him, he's my nemesis." Draco said, very firmly. You let him pick up his book and wand before pointing out the flaw in what he said.
"I never said you were in love with him Draco." He froze in his place for a moment, then tried to look relaxed and not like he was going to explode in embarrassment.
"Yes you did (y/n), why would-"
"I only said that you liked him, not that you were in love with him." He didn't respond for a moment.
"Well, then I miss heard you."
                "I don't think you did-"
                "Shut up!" You grinned.
"So, you have a crush on him?" You saw his face go pink.
"I haven't the slightest clue as to what you're talking about."
"Oh come on Draco! I'm your best friend you can tell me!" Draco let out a strangled groan, then sighed and lowered his voice.
"Fine!...I might, might, have a small crush on Potter." You gasped and squealed a little, your ship was going to sail. Draco hurriedly covered your mouth with one of his hands.
"Merlin (y/n) calm down! It's not that fun!" You giggled a bit.
"Sorry I'm just excited! I need to set you two up on a date somehow-" you started, before Draco stoped you.
                  "Absolutely not."
                "What? Why?!"
"No! No I'm not going to ask him out on a date!" You rolled your eyes.
"Oh come on, what's the worst that can happen!" Draco looked to you seriously.
                 "He could hear me."
"Oh come off it Draco, both of you are my best friends, trust me! Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaase!" You dragged out your please until Draco sighed.
"Fine! Fine, alright. I'll let you try and set us up, but if he says no, it's on you." You nodded with a large grin.
                 "Got it."

You had convinced Harry to go to the part of the grounds that lead to Hagrid's hut so he could meet Draco there. You told Draco where to meet and when.
"And Draco, don't be too dramatic, your just asking him to go to Hogsmead with you, there's no need for anything over the top-" Draco scoffed a bit, playfully.
"Oh come on (y/n), it's me!"
"...yeah that's exactly why I'm telling you this, I love you to death but you can be a bit over the top."
"...whatever just- go hide or something!"
You scanned the area for a suitable hiding spot and found a nice, tall rock you could hide behind and see what was happening. And then, you saw Harry coming down the hall. You waved, called out to him to get his attention, then jogged to your hiding space, not seeing where Draco had gone.
Harry jogged after you into the semi-courtyard area. "(Y/n)? (Y/n) where did you go?" You saw him turn in a circle before stopping, and looking up at a tree. He crossed his arms "...Malfoy." You froze, and looked up into the tree to see Draco's dramatic ass standing on one of the branches and leaning against the trunk. You resisted the urge to facepalm.
"Potter." Draco said. You frowned at him. At least have a nicer tone of voice Draco, you're asking him out on a date. You thought.
"Have you seen (y/n)? She was just here." Harry asked. Draco looked around, spotted you for a split second, then shook his head.
"No, haven't seen her." He said. Harry sighed.
"Great, she could be anywhere, she was always way better at hiding than I was- thanks anyway-" Harry started to leave when Draco stopped him, a bit desperately.
"Wait!" Harry turned just in time to see Draco jump from the tree...and roll down the hill because he didn't look where he was jumping. You faceplamed and ran after him, Harry in tow.
Draco groaned as you kneeled down next to him, Harry kneeling right beside you.
"Where'd you come from?" Harry asked.
"Behind that rock," you pointed to it vaguely. "Draco are you alright?"
"Ah-...yeah, I'm fine..." he said in a strained voice, sitting up. Harry and you checked him over as you scolded him gently.
"Draco you really need to look where you're jumping, you could have gotten yourself killed! And I told you not to be dramatic!"
"How was that being dramatic?!" Draco pouted.
"How is jumping out of a tree not being dramatic?! What were you thinking?!" Your voice was fully of worry and concern and it made Draco and Harry feel bad for worrying you, even if Harry didn't jump out of a tree.
"I was just-" Draco sighed, glancing at Harry for a second. Harry blinked, confused. "I was trying to impress him..." Draco mumbled.
"Well impress him in a way you won't possibly get killed next time please?" Draco nodded.
"Wait wait...what's going on?" Harry asked. You and Draco looked to him, then each other.
                 "...well-"
"Nothing. It's fine." Draco said coldly, getting up and starting back up the hill. Harry looked at him, then back to you.
"(Y/n) what's this all about?" Harry whispered. You looked to Draco, then to Harry with a desperate look.
"He was...trying to...impress...H-Hagrid by jumping out of a tree?" You tried. Harry gave you a look.
"(Y/n), your like a sister, and I love you, but you're a horrid lier. Now please just tell me what's going on?" You sigh.
"You know how you told me about your crush on Draco?" You asked. Harry went red.
                  "You told him?!"
"No! But I did say that he should try and ask you out and...well this was us trying to do that and it didn't go so-...Harry?" You stopped your small rant as you saw Harry get up and jog up the hill to Draco.
"Draco! Hey, Draco wait." Harry grabbed him gently by the shoulder.
"What is it Potter? Come to mock me?" Draco almost spat.
"No! I-" Harry sighed, rubbing a hand through his hair. "...look, would you like to go to the Three Broomsticks with me on the next Hogsmead trip?" Draco blinked.
                    "...as...to hang out-?"
"No, as a...as a date." Harry waited for rejection.
"Yeah....," Draco said breathlessly. "Y-yeah I'd like that..." Harry smiled.
"Great! Uh..I'll, see you then" Harry started making his way up the hill slowly, before jogging the rest of the way. Draco stood there in shock as you jogged up to him.
"What happened?!" You asked earnestly. Draco didn't respond for a second. "Draco? Draco! Draco what-"
"You're the best (y/n)." He said, a grin starting to break into hair face.
                       "What?" You asked confused.
"You're the best wingman ever (y/n)!" Draco exclaimed, and hugged you.
"Whoa!" You exclaimed as you laughed a bit. "Th-thank you?...Wait does this mean-...?"
"He asked me out! HE ASKED ME OUT!" Draco practically shouted. You squealed with glee.
"Draco! That's wonderful! And it's about time!" You exclaimed, practically calling it after Harry, who was gone. Draco looked confused.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
                       "...nothing." You said.
"(Y/n)." He said, crossing his arms.
"Okay Harry may or may not have had a crush on you for a while."
"...and you didn't tell me?!" Draco exclaimed.
"Well of course I didn't tell you! I couldn't keep anything from him and he made me promise not to tell anyone! Not even his parents do you know how hard it is to keep a secret from my family??" Draco laughs a bit at your rant.
"Okay okay, I forgive you." You sigh in relief.
"Thank Merlin, I hate keeping secrets..."

"Are you sure we should be doing this?" You asked Ron, who was currently hiding in a bush spying on Harry and Draco's date with you and Hermione.
"Yeah we should give them some privacy...Ron? Ron are you listening?" Hermione asked. Ron shushed you two.
"I can't make out what they're saying!" He said in a harsh whisper before turning back to the two.
"...I'm gonna go to Honeydukes do you want to come with me Hermione?" You asked.
"Yes, lets leave them alone, Harry will tell us all about it when he get back to Hogwarts." Hermione said. "Come on Ron, let them be!"
                        "No way!" He exclaimed.
"Alright, but when Draco spots you and you get in trouble, we'll be at Honeydukes" you said, then walked off with Hermione. Ron watched you leave, before scoffing.
                        "Malfoy's not gonna spot me..."
"Oh really, I'm not?" Draco asked, standing over the bush Ron was hiding in with Harry at his side, both of them with their arms crossed.
                         "...bugger." Ron said to himself.
