Hope or Despair

Chapter One.

It has been 2 weeks since Josie practiced the spell that brought everybody's Hope memories back, it never crossed her mind that doing the right thing would cost so much. After the Mystic Falls beauty pageant she had a Penelope Park size hole in her heart that sorta filled when she was with Landon, but like everything in her life nothing lasts.

After everything that happened she had nothing against Hope nor Landon she just needed some space so she has been trying to avoid seeing Hope and Landon together, it was too hard having a walking reminder of her broken heart.

Instead Josie spends her time in the library reviewing and studying the Mora Misserium given to her by Professor Vardemus, she just knows there is something more to it, there must be some unknown mystical properties. Before coven week she discovers a practice that allows the Mora Misserium to be used for unique spells. Then it hit her like a truck, what if she harnest the power to avoid the Gemini merger?

It was brilliant but she needed more information, she quickly skimmed through the text to find the requirements but she only found one thing. "To fully access the Mora Misserium's full capabilities one must siphon the entirety of power from an ancient coven: The Infamous M...". No! Josie exclaimed the page was ripped, all she could view was an M. Even though she hit a bump it wasn't all bad since she could use coven week to figure it out and get rid once and for all of the Gemini Merger. Also it wasn't a bad distraction from the whole Hope and Landon affliction.

Meanwhile Lizzie is talking with Hope about a sensitive matter.

- "Hope I'm worried about Josie, I know she says she's okay but she hasn't been sleeping at night and is barely eating, she doesn't even want to twin cuddle anymore, I don't know what to do; it can't be exclusively because of you stealing her boyfriend", Lizzie says with a desperate face.

- With an exhaustive sigh Hope replies "Lizzie come on you know that's not fair, I know Josie has been down but I didn't steal Landon. I already feel so bad that I wish I hadn't got back together with Landon and just broken up with him".

- Lizzie's face immediately lights up "I have a great idea, what if you did?".

- Hope can't help but give Lizzie a concerned look by raising her right eyebrow "what do you mean?"

- "Well I know you love your muppet boyfriend and all but how about you just stay away from him for awhile and spend more time with Josie, she would like the company and you could help me figure out what's truly bothering her"

- "Lizzie you are just psychotic she hates me, and I don't blame her, the best thing I can do right now is give her space"

- "Fine Hope whatever you say, you know I hate the idea of you and Josie together together, but I know this is just what she needs, call it a twin's intuition, just think about it, you know I'm right".

Dr. Saltzman quickly rings the assembly bell requesting all upper level witches to come to the auditorium. "Welcome students, as you all know we are beginning coven week where we study the different practices regarding magic, to make sure there is an extensive investigation and interest regarding the covens I will split up the witches into pairs and they will be assigned a coven to present to the rest of the class".

You could just feel the tension between the students nobody thought this was going to be fun nor entertaining. "So to ensure teamwork and cooperation I will have Emma select the pairings from the respective hat and they will chose their coven from the list she will provide". "Alrighty witches are you ready" says an enthusiastic Emma. An uncomfortably silenced filled the room, you could almost hear the rats squeaking in the chem lab. "Okay... so I guess I'll just start".

While everybody was wishing to be with somebody they knew or liked Josie couldn't stop wishing it would anybody but Hope. She couldn't have Hope distract her from the mission she desperately wants to achieve.

"Josie Saltzman will be paired with Alessia". Yes! Josie couldn't help but smile, she was so relieved.

Lizzie saw an opportunity flash before her eyes and couldn't let it pass. She quickly grabbed onto Hopes arm and quietly said "Verbatioum Manipulo Hoas", Hope suddenly gave her a threatening look, she knew what spell Lizzie had just done and did not like it.

"Oh wait" said Emma in a apologetic tone, "I'm so sorry, I read this wrong Josie Saltzman is paired with Hope Mikaelson". Okay witches you know your assignements now get to work!

"Fuck, just what I needed!"said an irritated Josie in a soft low voice, she knew this was going to be a long week.
