Hope or Despair

Chapter Two.

- "You know I can ask Emma if we can switch partners, I wouldn't want to make you feel uncomfortable in any way" said Hope in a tender voice

- Josie in a aggressive tone asked "why would I want to switch partners?"

- "You do know I have superhearing right?"

- Josie immediately blushed "It's truly nothing, how about we just start searching for our coven"

- "Sure, whatever you say"

Josie and Hope grabbed the list of covens and starting searching for a coven to present. As Josie previously planned she started searching directly for all the covens that began with M but there were only two and she already knew about them, another brick wall.

- "Hey Josie do you have one in mind? Because I can see your clearly looking for one"

-"Not really I just heard of a powerful ancient coven that began with M and thought it would be here in the list"

- "Hmmm well if you want we can check my family's documents they must have it in there"

-"Really?" Said a surprised Josie.

-"Yeah it's in my room we can check it out later if you want"

-"Okay, I'll come by later tonight"

-"It's a date"

-"What?" Asked a concerned Josie.

-"Nothing" said a nervous Hope.

After the conversation both went on to continue their daily activities. Later that day Josie knocked on Hope's door.

-"Hey"

-"Hey, come on in. I was looking for the book and here it is" Hope gives the book to Josie.

-"Wow it's a pretty big book" Josie tried not to get her hopes up but she knew the time was near, she is one step closer to getting rid of the merger once and for all.

She quickly skims the book until she reaches M but she just finds another obstacle the covens from L-O were burned!

-"Really Hope? Why would you get my hopes up it you knew it was burned. You just know how to fuck up my life don't you?"

- "Woah" said a calm Hope. "A few things: One, you need to calm down, this is about something else so don't jump at me. Two I didn't know the pages were burned, I just found the book a couple of days ago. And three if it's burned you must know about that fire during spring break where YOU burned all of my stuff, right?"

Josie quietly sits down on Hope's bed and releases a large sigh.

- "These past weeks have been hell, I've had my heart broken twice and can't get extinguish any of the fires in my life."

Hope surprised by the sudden honesty leaving Josie's mouth she sits next to Josie and shows an attentive face.

- "I know it's nobody fault but Landon left me for you, and I don't blame him who wouldn't want to date you. I tried to find this stupid mysterious M coven to see if they can help me stop the merger and stupendously failed at that as well. I am just not enough"

- In the softest and sweetest voice possible Hope says "Josie, you are the most generous, selfless, honest, loyal person I know. Sure you have been through some rough stuff but that doesn't define your worth. All I can say is I'm sorry for my part in your suffering and I am here for you, for better or for worse"

Josie slowly lifts up her face and locks eyes with Hope, there is not much she can say. All she can think about at this second is how perfect Hope is, how her sweet light blue eyes sparkle, how her fiery brown hair is always filled with volume and her lips, her thick red lips, that Josie so desperately wanted to kiss. Is it possible? Can her childhood crush feelings be coming back? No that's not possible it can not be happening, the last thing she needs is a third heartbreak, she wouldn't survive it. While Hope and Josie were locking eyes a fire lit. They might not know it yet but it was then and there where their connection formed.
