Chapter One- The Start
This day never seemed to end, it was Friday and it was finally the end of the week. It was the third of month of senior year, and it was nothing like I expected it to be. I thought it would be stress-free with little to no homework; rather it was full of assignments and pop quizzes.
Give me a break.
I clutched my books tightly towards my body as I was roaming through the crowded halls of Saint Lancers Secondary School.
“Hey, what class are you heading to?” Diane asked me as she nudged my side.
“Ouch,” I exclaimed. “Calculus,” I added with a long sigh.
“Luckily I didn’t take it this year,” she laughed out.
“Are you going to Stephanie’s senior year party?” I yelled so she could hear me through this loud zoo.
“Don’t even mention her name to me, don’t.” She warned.
“And why is that? You guys have a bad past or something?” I curiously asked, as I looked her way.
“It’s nothing, you keep asking me that question!” She informed me as she furrowed her brows.
Let me tell you a little something about my friend Diane Lenner. She is tall with a slim figure and long blonde hair. She is pretty, and everyone practically likes her. However, she has an attitude, one like no other. She will get anything she wants whenever. She is like the queen bee of this school, and my best friend. We met at this party, both bored and we became best friends ever since. It is like we had some sort of connection.
Then there is me, a short brunette with nothing but her brains. I am known as the ‘book bee.’ It made no sense, but come to think of it, nothing in this school does. Even though everyone in this school had some sort of boyfriend, that they always call their knight in shining armor. I beg to differ; I do not need a man to define who I am. I am I because of me, not because of someone. It would one special person to change that, anyway.
“Bee! Did you not hear anything I told you?” Diane shouted.
“Huh, yes definitely!” I lied to her with a small smile.
“Liar, Bee you’re the worst liar possible. You couldn’t lie to save your life!” She laughed out loud. “I was telling you about Chace.” She added with awe.
Diane has such a big thing for Chace, and I can sense he had a big thing for her too. Whenever I would ask her or confront her about her feelings for him, she would always dismay the conversation, and would change it immediately.
“What about him?” I asked her quickly, before she would change the subject.
She was spacing out again, and thinking of him probably, that is all she ever did now. Talk about problems.
“Ok, listen. It was nothing serious or anything. Don’t get the wrong message, because I swear I will hurt you Bee. I don’t have anytime for this..”
