Chapter 2: News
I unlocked my house’s front door, and locked it again as I entered.
“Home!” I shouted.
“I’m in the kitchen,” my mother replies to me, something odd in her voice.
“What’s up?” I asked worried, this was not like my mother.
My mother was always carefree and always had a smile on her face. She was simply amazing and was flawless, and I hated seeing her this way.
“Take a seat, Bella.” My mother instructs me to do. This is not good news, no one tells someone to take a seat for something well.
“Yes?” I questioned as I sat down on the chair.
“Well, it’s nothing dear, seriously.” She calms me down, as she tried to turn around to get the food, but I grabbed her hand before she could.
“Mom, seriously?” I asked, shaking my head. “What’s wrong?”
“I have to go on another business trip.” She said slowly.
I barely get to see my mother; she is always on business trips. I wish that I could have one day just for us together, but that is impossible. She always has something to do, and seriously I really wish I could talk to her one on one.
“That’s great mom!” I said trying to be happy, but indeed I was nothing but happy.
“Are you for sure?” She asked.
“Positive.” I added.
Why am I so weak to tell her that I am not okay with this, that I need my mother by my side? She does not know me as well as I thought she did. I see her once a month, or less at times. She stayed a week with me this time, and I thought she would stay for good. But, let’s be real.
“Great! That’s off my chest!” Mother replied happily.
I ate lunch in silence, why does my life have to be so miserable. My father, well I don’t know anything about that man. Should I even call him father after everything? He did not even give me a proper reason for why he left, and even if he did can there be one? I was seven years old for crying out loud, I needed a father in my life!
He was just part of my life and I learned to move on now, to be strong.
I have learned to be such an independent person since I was little, because having practically no family by my side, I had to. My mother would always leave on business trips and thought that having a baby sitter or as I call a new “mother” would help out.
“Dear!” My mother shouted. I looked her way, and nodded my head.
“There is something I need to tell you.” She continues.
“Haven’t you told me enough?” I blurted out loud.
“Oh,” she says simply.
What is it mother?” I asked worriedly.
“I need your acceptance for something.” My mother asks me as she took a sip of her wine, and looked up at me.
“For what?” I asked bluntly, too angry to speak.
