"How long has this been going on?" Kendall asked, taking it all in. "A little over a year now," Chloe piped up, "I joined a few months ago." "Well there why hasn't anything happened yet?" Kendall asks again. Gianna rolls her eyes, "we've been planning a revolution, something bigger than you could ever imagine! We've just been recruiting people." "Oh," Kendall murmurs. "Kendall, it's getting late, I should take you home before your parents notice." Brooke says. Brooke walks with her through the forest, "you can come to our next meeting on Friday. Come right after school and don't let anyone notice you." Brooke waves goodbye as Kendall walks into her house. Later that night, her parents get home and Kendall does her normal, "perfect" evening routine. The rest of the week, all she can think about is Friday. After class on Wednesday, Kendall approached Ms. Martello. "How did I get out of taking my exam?" "Now is not the time," was all Gianna whispered back, walking away. Finally, Friday rolled around. As soon as the school day ended, Kendall tried to make sure no one was following her and raced down the path. She didn't realize that her shoe was untied though and she tripped. "Need some help?" Someone asked, giving their hand. Kendall accepted it and was greeted by a friendly and somewhat familiar face. "My name is Brandon," he said. 'Brandon, that's right,' Kendall thought, 'he's in my grade and I've been neighbors with him for years.' "Kendall," she told him. "Nice to meet you Kendall, although I think you're in my class. What are you doing running around here, you're not supposed to be." "Ugh," Kendall tried to think up an excuse, "I really have to use the restroom so I'm trying to get home quickly." Brandon eyed her, knowing that this was not the way to her house. "Okay." He said walking away. 'Wow, he's cute,' Kendall found herself thinking as he walked away, 'oh snap out of it,' she told herself. Kendall ran the rest of the way into the woods, not wanting to run into anyone else. When she found her way back over to the boulders, she did the same knock Brooke had done a few days ago. The stone rolled away and Nia appeared, "oh, hey Kendall, didn't know if you were coming or not!" Nia was just a happy person, she always had a smile on her face. "Welcome," Gianna said, as Kendall entered the room. "Why don't we all take a seat." Everyone say down, there were a few familiar faces for Kendall and a lot of people she didn't know. "Let's get started. We have something very important to discuss, weapons. We've been stocking up for a while but we still are very low." Kendall was taken aback by the thought of having to use a gun, was she sure about this? Has she chosen the right side? Of course, Kendall thought, she had to have made the right choice. After all, there was no going back now.
