It had been hours after the attack but the mutants still hadn’t left the room so Pandora could escape, she was starting to drift off before footsteps came by followed by a shocked scream. She heard hushed voices soothing the person who screamed and explanations about what had transpired there while the new people had been gone, eventually it went silent and Pandora heard footsteps walking… towards her hiding place.

“Who’s our new friend?” A man’s voice asked; still out of sight from Pandora.

“What?” It was the blonde girl’s voice if her memory was correct. “Charles no one else is here.”

“Raven she’s hiding.” Charles replied and Pandora heard the footsteps start coming closer.

She backed away as far as she could without being seen and wished she could teleport like her brother. Unfortunately she couldn’t and soon came face to face with the brown haired man called Charles. Pandora could tell he was calm and curious not vengeful and angry like she expected but did know the others probably would be.

“It’s okay you’re safe here no one will hurt you.”

Pandora glared at him doubtfully. “Why should I trust you?”

            “Because I’m the good guy.”

Pandora decided to trust him, after all they knew she was here and she couldn’t just go back to Shaw. She stood up and slowly followed him back towards the others, who, as she expected, were not happy to see her.

“Do you know who that is?” Alex growled.

“She’s with Shaw’s Hellfire club!” The nerdy guy shouted.

“If she is then why is she still here?” Charles asked them. “Remember out of all of you who is the telepath?”

The others went silent though Pandora could still see them occasionally give her dirty looks. Another man came back in and started reporting to Charles about all the damage done before even glancing her way, honestly though she couldn’t stand being the center of attention and wished that she had just gone with the others, at least then she wouldn’t feel like she was about to be attacked by random mutants she’d just met. After a while though Charles led them to a different part of Division X that wasn’t too destroyed and settled the others down for a meeting.

“Pandora here is going to stay with us.” Charles told them and gave them a hard look. “Now to get used to each other we’re each going to tell her who we are and our back story.”

The boy with freckles let out a groan. “Do we have to?”

“No.” Pandora hissed at him before Charles could respond. “And who said I was staying?”

“I know what will happen if you don’t just as much as you do.” Charles replied.

“That doesn’t mean I have to be friends with you.” She started to get up but the other man held her down by her shoulder to keep her in the chair.

“How about I go first.” He growled. “Since you seem to know the man I hate so much.”

Pandora didn’t like him, hatred was just beneath the surface of his other emotions along with a deeply driven anger towards Shaw, or at least she guessed that’s who it was for since he’d mentioned him.

“I’m Erik. Maybe Shaw mentioned me trying to kill him. That’s how I met Charles and the others.” Erik nearly hissed Shaw’s name.

“S-Shaw never mentioned you.” Pandora’s eyes glowed a faint purple but she controlled it before the fear spread to the others.

“Well you should know he killed my mother.”

“Erik that’s enough.” Charles intervened. “Okay who’s next?”

It went like that for an hour, Raven told her story then the nerdy guy named Hank, and then the freckled boy called Sean, Alex, and finally Charles finished up before it was her turn. Pandora was silent for a few minutes as they watched her before looking at the ground and starting.

“Well I’m not sure who my mother was but my powers are more like hers than my father’s. She apparently died when my brother and I were born and our father left to join the Hellfire Club though I didn’t find that out until recently. Acheron took care of me, he’d always leave at night to steal food and practice using his mutation to his advantage… sometimes I would practice mine although it isn’t really that hard. It was like that for years until a few days ago when Azazel showed up again with Shaw’s team and let us join.” Pandora shuddered as she remembered the bloodlust most of them loved. “At first it was fine, how could it not be? I was with my entire family again… then as we planned this attack I started to sense how bloodthirsty all of them really were. Then Shaw killed all of those guards without even hesitating… that’s when I finally started thinking I didn’t belong there. So as you can see I left.”

It was silent and Pandora glanced up cautiously, the others were gazing at her but not in anger… or pity, she mentally smiled at that, she hated being pitied. They were however still curious and friendlier looking, excluding Erik, he still had a stern and cold look on his face.

“Well this was a very action filled night and we can’t stay here tomorrow so I suggest you all get some rest.” Charles finally spoke up and started showing them to empty rooms they could stay in. “Tomorrow will be another busy day so be prepared to get up early.”

Pandora went into the room he showed her and shut the door, the memories of what happened came crashing down around her but she ignored them and laid down on the couch, after all there wasn’t anything she could do to change the past. As sleep over came her though she did realize something: that she’d made the right choice. These mutants were her friends now, well Erik was still on the border, but she knew Azazel and the others couldn’t come after her with them to help her out. If they even remember I exist… my mutation is useless. Pandora thought to herself and drifted off.
