"I think it is funny how we seem to be freezing our asses off just because you want to go to a coffee shop" spoke Ramona, one of Eliza's best friends. "Coffee sounds good right now, plus I am trying to make you not slack so much on your politic class, you get me?" Eliza said as she raised a brow before pressing on a button that slid the door open to the coffee shop. Ramona shook her head in defeat, taking the beat as she walks inside the building taking a seat at a round booth. With a puff of frustration, Ramona removes her black scarf and her heavy coat, placing it beside her when afterwards she pulls out her laptop and placed it in front of her. "Great, now it is too warm" she complaint with a whine. Eliza rolls her eyes and opens her tablet, seeing where she has left off in her assignment in her computing class.
Ramona has stood up and walk over to the counter and place an order of a white hot chocolate and a gingerbread latte, something Eliza would love during the holiday season.
Once the order has been placed, Ramona walks back to the booth and sat down, staring at Eliza working herself too much in front of the screen. Clearing her throat slightly, she decided to speak.
"Have you spoken to your father?" Ramona asks.
This has somehow made Eliza stop typing and then look up at her friend with her cold blue eyes. Leaning back against the booth, she has crossed her arms over her chest and look away from her friend. Her best friend shook her head in distress.
"When are you ever going to talk to him?" Ramona asks. "Never" Eliza responded as she shifted her eyes back to Ramona. "You will have to eventually, Elizabella-" Ramona was cut off by Eliza becoming quite furious with what was being said. "Are you siding with my dad, Ramona, because if you are please, give him a call and tell him that you miss him" the girl spoke with a bitter tone.
Swallowing the lump in her throat, Ramona shook her head and blinks slightly as she scoffs before looking back at Eliza. "I know how much he has hurt you, but you are going to have to if it means redeeming yourself from what he has done" Ramona said.
This has made Eliza think too deeply about what Ramona has spoke, yet it has brought back terrible flashbacks between her and her father. "I will never forgive him. I have learn to forget it and it is not like he can get me right now with this wall separating me and him" Eliza said. "It would be a pleasure to watch him try to get to this side only to watch him get shot."
"Order for Ramona!" spoke one of the employees. Standing up, Ramona took a few steps and looks back only to catch Eliza typing back on her tablet with her earbuds in her ears before proceeding to get the coffee for her and her friend.

Mervyn took a small sip of his beer as he and his buddies were crowding around a table in the living room of the apartment. "So let me get this straight; you are telling me that the Scarlett Orlando is now dating the Monty Ray?" asked Jasper. Everyone chuckled loudly as they took a swing of their alcoholic beverages. "Yes, the Scarlett Orlando is now dating the Monty Ray. I heard it on the daily news from my robotic friend!" exclaimed Edison as he gives the most childish grin. "What? Are you sad that your all-time middle school crush is now dating some football loser?" Edison asked as he gives a sigh.
"You have no idea how long I have been trying to get with her" Jasper said as he stretched his arms out in a way to express how upset he was. "C'mon, man, it was for the good. She was not enough for you at all" Mervyn bumps in as he stood up and walk over to the kitchen where the rest of the beers were at. "She was just so smart and beautiful and-" he was cut off by Edison as he shouted at his friend. "OI! She was a whore! A dumb whore who wanted dick and nothing else. Let er' be with Monty, they make a great couple since all they do is bang each other twenty four seven over Skype"
Mervyn sat back down and then everyone was still. Their smiles dropped, their loudness was now silence. It was as if something was totally off.
"They were not together for long, you guys know that" Mervyn said quietly as he gulps his beer.
The news was everywhere when everyone saw Scarlett Orlando and Monty Ray being killed by the guards. They were desperate to meet their desires and they thought that during the evening where it was pitch black, they could make that desire happen. Little did they know, the consequence of meeting their pleasures got them killed and hung back to back on their side of the wall, dead. Everyone was horrified and ever since they saw Scarlett and Monty, nobody dared to try and go against it unless someone has attempted and they have just decided not to display it.
"This really blows" Edison spoke as he pulls out a cigarette and lit it up, inhaling the chemical deeply before exhaling it out. "I mean, this law is just too much, all because Armacova was overpopulated and we did not have anymore room to give to anybody?"
"You have to think about it, Edi. There was truly no room left for any adult or child to camp on" Mervyn said. Immediately, his friends gave him a sort of glare and shook their heads.
"How could you say something like that, Mervyn? Do you realize how much I want to be with my other half of my family, how I want to be able to hug them and touch them rather than just seeing them on my screen over video chat?" Edison spoke aggressively.
"You guys, please-" Jasper was butted out of the two-on-two conversation. "I do understand, but how do you expect over half a million males in Armacova to protest against the law when they know damn sure that this dickhead is not going to bring down the law?" Mervyn shouted.
"God you sound hopeless!" Edison shouted as he begins to get upset.
"I am sounding realistic, Edison! Go ahead, try and climb over that wall, but how would that make your mother and your sisters feel to see you dead!?" Mervyn yells. Silence filled the room as Edison started to calm down and rub his temple. He grabs his bottle and gulps the rest of it down as tears started to pour out of his eyes gently.
"I cannot handle this any longer, Mervyn. I really cannot. I need my mom, my sisters, they complete me and motivate me to just keep pushing on and on. I do not want to see them when they are all in their caskets because that would be the only time I would ever truly see them physically - dead" Edison said as his voice cracked in the middle of his small speech.
Jasper slowly moves besides him as he hugs his friend. Edison rested his head on Jasper's shoulder as he does not dare show how he truly felt about the law. Jasper looks up at Mervyn with a mixture of concern and resentment towards everything that was happening. Mervyn took another sip and looks out the window of Jasper's apartment, watching the snow lightly fall from the sky, knowing that there would be no way to bring down the law or bring down Persimmon Saphire.
