I love camping and road trips and stuff, and thought one day "yo...what if I did like a Splatoon x reader, but they were all on a road trip!" And that's what I did. So yeah it's one of those road trips movies, you know what I'm talking about the classic road trip style movies, but with a bigger set of people and more romance!
Also, nostalgic song I know. I really want this book to have nostalgic vibes. Like you'll be able to see yourself in the book with all the characters in a fun montage style thing with music playing type of nostalgic. Like an amv I guess? That's just the kinda vibes I got from this thing. I know I'm weird don't remind me.
So this book is different from normal books. Yes it is an x reader, but the reader is with the main characters of the Splatoon manga in this book, forming relationships with all of them over time. the book will have a different ending with each guy at the end, so you get to choose which one you end up with! And don't worry, every ship will have its moments (even some that don't include the reader like Rider x Goggles).
I don't want to spoil too much, but the book focuses around the group getting an RV and travelling around in it for a couple weeks as a road trip, or vacation type of thing. They stop in different places, have fun, visit attractions, and sometime set up a campsite. Besides romance, book mostly focuses on comedy and just happiness in general. Chill vibes I guess. Of course like any well balanced book there are sad moments too along with a fucc ton of romance.
It took a while to decide, but here is the group that will go with the reader!

(Small thing, I'm so sorry I had to cut out the rest of Goggle's team and other characters like Agent 8, Gloves and Emperor I really would've loved it if they could come, but I was struggling with finding ways to logically find ways to fit about 13 people into an rv of the size I want. So I settled for nine. Yeah I know 'just make them have a bigger rv Emma you dweeb' but I don't want this road trip to feel like you're modern camping. A smaller rv suits the theme of this book way better than a full sized trailer with wheels. And while those big bois are amazing, I don't think it suits this book. I want the cast to sleep in tents when it's nice and be able to park their rv easily. Get it? Okay good. Thank you)

This is the best layout I could find, but I thought it was too big. So imagine it on a smaller scale or something, or take items around and shift them until it fits what you'd think is a smaller rv which I'm about to show you. I never realized how hard it is buying rvs and trailers lmao

They be traveling in one of these bad bois. I would've liked it smaller but I have to think realistically seeing as 7 people are gonna be there so yeah.
I like it, it's not too modern, overall it's okay. To be clear, it's one of the rvs with part of the wall that extends out. There's a small bathroom and a corner bed which is not shown in the picture.
And here's some more info in bullet points because I don't want to make this any longer
-ill try my best to make the reader gender neutral
-The groups tries to switch drivers after every stop, but usually Army ends up as the driver or in the passenger seat holding a map somehow. Not that he minds though, he's happy he's the one doing it because he can do it right.
-they try to get a campsite and sleep in tents when they can. Aloha says it better for bonding and plus, campfires and aesthetic pics for inkstagram. If it's raining or if they're not in a campsite they sleep in the rv.
-as you can see, there is a queen bed, bunk beds, and a sofa bed in the rv. This is also a rotated cycle, so three different peeps get to sleep in the queen bed, one in each bunk bed, two on the sofa bed. This is where some of aforementioned shipping moments will take place. ...not like that though...
-the group doesn't know the meaning of seatbelts
-whoever wakes up first makes breakfast, but Goggles can only make breakfast with someone else because we can all agree he'll burn the house down. Often (y/n) and Mask make breakfast because everyone else pretends to be asleep, and I don't think Mask sleeps at all.
