Cassidy pov

I silently walk to the back of the crowd. Watching all of the different aged vampires as they were waiting to hear what their king had to say. Knowing that this is going to be some pep rally or he is ordering an attack I tried to mentally prepare myself because even though I owe Marcel everything for taking me in I couldn't stand him acting as if he owned New Orleans. The crowd cheered and hollered as Marcel revealed that he had, in fact, killed a witch in the quarter. I watched as the vampires threw their hands in the air chanting Marcel's name and I cringed.

"Leave it to the king of New Orleans to take out all who oppose us!" yelled Thierry that was standing next to Marcel. Instead of joining in on the clapping and yelling I gave Marcel a nod of my head when his gaze found my own. But it didn't last long as he moved on to the vampires before him. Holding his hand up in the air he silencing the loud group.

"I left the body in the quarter for the witch to find. I need a small group of about twenty or thirty to come with me to make sure the witches know their place, and when we return we will party late into tomorrow night!" Marcel said. Causing another uproar of cheers. He stepped down from the chair he had originally been standing on. Causing everyone to step back and make a path for him to leave I moved to the side waiting for him to pass by but instead he stopped beside me and whispered in my ear, "I would appreciate it if my third was beside me tonight." giving him a slight nod I following behind him leaving the crowd behind. We were soon joined by Thierry we talked as we waited for the rest of the group to join.

"Are you sure we need her Marcel there just a bunch of powerless witches?" Thierry questioned.

Marcel laughed as if he said the most stupid thing, "she's not coming for back up Thierry shes coming to display power, her being a hybrid and all she can kick your butt easily.  The reason she hasn't is beyond me," he turned to face me with a questioning look.

"I'm not interested in being your second. Plus Marcel with all you've done for me I owe it to you to help you in any way I can," nothing but honesty was heard in my voice as I locked my gaze with Marcel. As he gave me a genuine smile and an approving nod.

"Just remember Cassidy I don't do well with people who betray me and won't hesitate to put anyone in there place," he said lightly but the message was clear don't do anything stupid, got it.

"How did you two meet anyway?" Thierry asked sounding a bit annoyed which I replied with an eye roll.

"I knew her father along time ago he had to get out of town quick and he didn't want to bring her with him so she was left with me. At that time she was just a baby," Marcel stated ending the discussion and giving the order to move out.

I stayed farther to the back letting the group go in front of me as we made our way to the spot Marcel killed the witch. It didn't take long before we came upon a group of Mourning witches putting the young girl to rest. Feeling that something was off I stayed back in the shadows and watched as Marcel ordered for the dead witch to be taken from its coven. Only for the coven to protest aimlessly to afraid to use their powers as the dead witch did.  Marcel noticed me in the shadows, motioning for me to follow as he leads the rest of the group away from the scene. Still feeling like something was off I scanned my surroundings. Still not finding anything I followed the group. only after I caught up did I look back at the witch with curious eyes before continuing with the group to the party that no doubt Marcel was going to throw.

Elijah pov

Being in this city once again after so many years made me miss the olden days where I, Niklaus, and Rebekah were closer to each other. One thing I don't miss is Father chasing us I was always sad when we had to leave the great city but I  was even more devastated when leaving New Orleans. Shaking that thought off I made my way into a bar and ordered a drink. After having a quick conversation with the delightful bartender Camille. I exited the bar following the witch in the yellow shirt as she gave a tour of New Orleans. Ending the tour by a voodoo shop.
