Don't leave me

Hi this is the first one shot that I posted on this account as I forgot my username for my other accounts. I hope you like it. I wrote this awhile ago so don't expect too much. There are some fragments of iron man 2 in here. Enjoy and please comment what you thought about it!

"These drones are rigged to blow, we gotta get out of here man!" Rhodes said as the sound of the bombs were getting louder and faster as time went by.

But my concern wasn't about blowing up. No, my concern was about a certain person that was left with a drone about to explode. "Pepper?"

I went as fast as the suit could go. I couldn't waist time, I had to be there before the drones would explode into a million pieces. As I was almost there I saw her looking at one of the suits Rhodey and I just fought. I slowed down so I wouldn't hurt her. I grabbed her tightly and flew away right in time as the bomb just exploded.

I landed nearby on a rooftop and still held onto her for a moment but she didn't seem to want to be held. She pushed me away seeming mad and shocked.

I took my helmet off and was about to say something when she cut me off with a yell.  "I can't do this anymore!"

I knew she had something to get off of her (chest or back). I took a few steps closer so I could see her better. I was able to see that she was deep in  thought about god knows what. I was for sure getting a rant from her.

She looked so vulnerable and I felt sorry for her that she'd always get dragged on in my shit.

"Tony.." she waited until she got his attention. "I can't handle this anymore and before you say something I need you to know that I care about you a lot but-" she stopped right there with her sentence. Hesitating to continue it.

Damn it Pepper why did she stop right there. What was she about to say. "Pep.. what are you trying to say?" He searched to meet her eyes and when they did, they didn't take them off of each other. They both knew that there was going to be said something that would be important for both of them.

He was anxious to know but before he could ask her the question again she spoke up. "What I'm trying to say is that I can't handle this stress. I mean what if you kill yourself or you ruin the whole company. I just.. what I'm trying to say is that I quit. I just can't do this anymore. That's it."

Was she serious? "You what? You just quit? Are you serious?" He felt his chest tighten when she didn't answer. It was true but what would he do without her.

"Well, that's surprising. Actually know I mean I get it. I've been an enormous dick to everybody including you." He paused for a second took a deep breath to try to calm down. "You deserve better and I... I guess that's not me."

No, maybe she did deserve better. What she really wanted was him to assure her he'd be save but she knew he couldn't do that.

"That's not what I mean, I just can't handle the stress that you kinda bring with you." She'd already finished the sentence when so no turning back now. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to be so rude."

"Pepper.." Tony walked towards the woman not really knowing what he was about to say or do.

He stopped so that there was still a bit of space between them. "You," he pointed at her and grabbed her hand and held them. "deserve the world but please and I'm a begging you don't leave me." I sounded way too desperate than that I was hoping but at least I was sincere for once in my lifetime. 

Pepper was really surprised by his words. She looked at him and she could feel that what he had said was the truth.

"I...I don't know what to say." She managed to say. She was avoiding his gaze as it was rather intense at the moment.

"Then don't say anything." He simply answered. He shifted his eyes to look at something else than the beautiful woman that was standing in front of him

Tony was able to see the stars and put his interest in finding some constellations he knew so he didn't have to face Pepper and the decision she was about to make. But as some time passed and she still hadn't said a thing he knew she was contemplating about staying at the company or not. She just needed one more thing so she'd stay and he knew what he had to do.

"Look Pepper, I got something to get off my back that I have kept to myself for some time." He didn't know yet how he was about to say it but he knew it was now or never.

"I've been trying to tell you for some time but I just... it's just hard for me to say it, you get what I mean?" Without waiting for an answer he spoke up again. "So yeah what I'm trying to say is-"

But before he was able to tell her she had interrupted him. "I'm sorry but we really first need to talk about what just happened here and about the press and cleanup and all. I'll be working here one more week so we kinda have to hurry with this, mr Stark."

She had taken her decision before I was able to say what I was about to say. It was now or never.

She took a step back and pulled her hand out of his grib. Why was she suddenly so professional.

He opened his mouth and was about to say something when he was cut off for the second time by her. "If you set up a team with people who will do the cleanup then  I will handle the press. It'll take dog years when I'm done and then I quit."

"Oh wait we also have to do the paperwork and.." he didn't listen anymore to her. Why was she doing this he was about to confess his feelings to her and when he tried opening up she just went all professional.

He had always been attracted to her but ever since he got kidnapped he figured she was the most important person in his life. And he needed to tell her that she couldn't just step out of his life like that.

After some fast thinking of the genius man he knew it. He'll just show it. It's a win win situation. He gets to show how he feels and she'll shut up as well.

"Tony are you listening to what I'm saying. We're in the middle of breaking this down you can't just-"

He cut her off by letting his lips meet hers. Her lips were incredibly soft what only made him crave to kiss her more.

For a few seconds Pepper froze as his lips were against hers. She felt his arm on her hip and his other was on her back. It felt great. It was amazing.

It was probably the least action he had had in a kiss but still fireworks were going of in his belly.

He was kissing Pepper Potts and the best part, she was kissing him back.

After what felt like ages they finally parted.

"Pepper.. don't leave me. I need you ,not just as my assistant or as ceo of my company. No, I need you because you're the most important person in my life and I wouldn't wish a life without you."

He rested his forehead on hers and closed his eyes waiting for a response. Her hand went to his cheek and made him look at her. They looked at each other for a couple of seconds. And this time she kissed him. It didn't last long.

"Tony, I need you too but if I'm staying at the company, I will take a vacation for a while AND you're going to join me."

He grinned at her like an idiot. She was staying. He couldn't ask for more.

"Everything for you Pepper.. for as long as you stay with me."

AN// So please comment and tell me what you thought about. I'd love to get some tips on how to write better as I'm only a beginner. Also I think Tony was a bit OOC so I might change some stuff.
