The Race Of Dreams

A dream of racing among clouds blue as brightest sunshine
Soaring high into space and places devoid of time,

Stars with a rainbow twinkle decorate the vast distances of space,
While you ride alongside rockets and strange vehicles in a race,

The sun shines across its planets with a beautiful green and blue glow,
Providing a dazzling shine over the dark beauty of space that was on show

Some vehicles are painted red and made entirely from sunshine flames,
And others are rusty and scarred from many different racing games,

The race starts as the sun's glow changes from blue to green,
And from the starting barrier nothing remains where the vehicles had been,

Each vehicle raced with their engines at their sides and their backs,
As with cool multicolor lasers and weapons each other they try to attack,

They all zoom around a planet with three rings of red, orange and blue,
Heading down into a barren world where there isn't much to view,

Buildings from a former civilization lie as rubble across the entire world,
Into the ground of this planet, many asteroids and rubble seem to be hurled,

Theres no water here but plenty of history to see and feel,
And plenty of temples with forgotten, cybernetic gods of which the religious of space still come to kneel,

The vehicles all leave back into the distant blackness above the sky,
And it's to another world they try to fly,

The racers however compete against each other with as much strength as they can,
And like a destruction derby, its into each other they try to ram,

The heavy duty armour prevents the vehicles from blowing up or falling apart,
But all of the racers are still trying to send the others right back to the start,

Some of the vehicles are even armed with spikes and saws despite the fact
they won't make a dent,
Though the outside of their vehicles start to look burned, scarred and bent.

The next world looms and this is a strange black and white world,
Where an entirely different dimension seems to have unfurled.

All the building smiles with happy faces,
As the buildings turn to watch the vehicles pass in the races,

The vehicles themselves seem to spin while they move,
The racers smiling happily with competition and this worlds musical groove,

The residents of this world all cheer as the race flies on,
Gazing skyward even after the racers have gone,

The race reaches its final and most difficult end,
For the final part, its against asteroids and meteors they need to defend,

Some racers prove quite agile and move with speed,
Others take to the guns and blast away trying to get the lead,

Many racers are blown back to the start, protective fields to insure no racer gets harmed when their vehicles are blown apart,

The uncountable amount of vehicles in the race has come down to just four,
With them all nearing the end, all of the racers speeds seem to soar,

And then the race ends as the winner crosses the finish line in the blink of an eye,
As the announcer speaks the name of the winner the noise and celebration reach a high,

The winner holds the glittering rainbow trophy aloft,
And from no where appears a never ending supply of food to be scoffed,

A barrel of rainbow wine is given to the winners that day,
Which they all pour into glasses and give away,

Winners or losers, everyone gets to party and have some fun,
As you wake from your dreams racing for the next dream to come.
