Flashback

"You got it, Grace! Go! Go!" I yelled as I let go of the bike watching as Grace pettled away.

"I got it, Faith! I got it!" Grace yelled back. I laughed with joy throwing my hands in the air jumping up and down.

"Woah Oooo!" I yelled as Grace circled around and came back. She got off the bike and hugged me

"You are the best, Faith" Grace says grinning and I hugged back.

"You are too." I told her before letting go.

"Girls, lunch is ready!" Mom yelled from the house. I smiled

"Race ya!" I said before running.

"Faith!" I heard Grace whine but never less ran after me. We ran into the house laughing

"No running girls!"

Flashback over.

I sighed looking down at that red old rusted bike that was propped against the large oak tree with a small smile.

"Faith, the lawyers here!" Grace called from behind me. I turned

"I'll be right there." I told looking back at the bike once more before turning around and walking towards the house.

******

"The house was left in both your names and so is the money. But since you are not illegally an adult yet you two will be sent to a New Orleans foster home until you are both 18 years of age. Now, I've done spoke with the caretaker and she's more than happy to have you both stay there." Mr. Lee said and I stared out the window

"When do we have to leave?" Grace asked

"Today by 4. I'm so sorry for your lost, I'll be outside when your ready" Mr. Lee says and left. I sighed turning towards Grace who looked at the papers.

"Why does everything happen so fast?" I asked flopping down in a chair and throwing my left leg over the armrest. Grace looked up with a sigh.

"I don't know and I don't think nobody does. Sometimes things are better unanswered." Grace tells me. I blew out a breath.

"Still it isn't fair" I pick at my painted fingernails.

"Life isn't fair, Faith. You should know this by now." Grace sighs and I groaned

"I should shouldn't I?" I asked with sarcasm hanging in my tone. She ignored me and continued to read the papers. I looked back out the window scanning the yard. My eyes hit the tire swing and stayed there. I smiled some as another memory hit.

Flashback.

Third person

"You can't get me, slow poke!" the 5 year old Grace yelled running away from her older twin sister, Faith who ran after her. Rob, their adoptive father laughed at his two adoptive daughters and his wife, Mary smiled as she sat the picnic basket on the cover she laid out.

"Girls, try not to get to dirty!" Mary yelled pulling out four bottles of waters.

"Mary, leave the girls be." Rob said tying a rope to a truck tire. His wife turned to look at him

"If they get to dirty, their gonna ruin their dresses" Mary said and Rob chuckled

"Your missing the point of playing" Rob teased and Mary shook her head.

"And your missing the point of dirty clothes" Mary said missing the teasing of her husband. Rob walked over to her and picked her up.

"I am, am I?" Rob asked walking over towards a lake. Mary caught on to what he was gonna do and started wiggling.

"ROB! DON'T YOU DARE!" Mary yelled trying to get out of his hold. Rob laughed and smiled down at his wife

"You love me?" He asked Mary who stopped wiggling

"Of cour- " Mary was cut off by Rob throwing her into the lake. Mary popped up out of the water cursing Rob. Two girls went up behind Rob and gave a hard shove to his back causing him to let out a curse as he lost balance and fell in. Mary started laughing now.

Faith

I finished packing my clothes and shut the suitcase and zipped it up. I sighed through my nose and turned around and sat on my bed. I felt my bottled up emotions try and come up but I forced them down. I couldn't be emotional, I had to be strong for both Grace and I. A knock at the door brought me out of my thoughts

"Faith, it's time to go" Grace says and I nodded. I grabbed both suitcases and headed out my room. Well, use to be room. I thought. I headed down the hallway and down the stairs. Every step I took gave me a feeling something was gonna happen soon. I didn't know what to make of the feeling so I did what I did with my other feelings. I dug a hole and barried them. I stared at the open front door as I walked closer towards it. I stopped at the door frame and stared out into the front yard. I looked down and back up again releasing a deep breath. I took a step outside of the house and another and continued.

Whatever was gonna happen, I hope something good comes out of it.
