A chance meeting

Pearl and Jimmie first met each other

In the town's oldest coffee shop

It was Christmas evening,

Only one chair was empty and

That table was where Jimmie sat,

Pearl entered angrily,

Jimmie was totally shocked,

She came straight to his table and quietly asked..

'Hello! May I sit here for a while?

I missed my bus by a few minutes.',

Anger was clearly visible in her eyes,

Only Jimmie noticed that there were tears,

'Yes please! Calm down, that is okay!

Have a tasty coffee instead of getting upset',

His aura was familiar, she shyly smiled

Taking a seat in front of him

She ordered a coffee with cream

The meeting was a turning point in their lives,

Both of them were surprised to know

That they lived within a distance of few miles,

'It was nice meeting you,

Now I take your leave,'

Pearl was hesitantly standing up,

It was the time to say goodbye,

'As you know that we're neighbors,

You can come with me on my scooter,

I am going home alone,

If you want, you too can join'

Pearl said yes to Jimmie
