Recap for those who need to know how old everyone is:
Fred, Teddy, and Dmitri are all entering into their third year at Hogwarts, along with some new characters (including Pansy Parkinson's oldest son Macaliser)
Victoire Weasley is entering her second year
Lorsan and Lysander Scamander, Roxie, Eliza, and Dominque Weasley are entering their first year (Along with Blaise Zambini's daughter Lyra, and Parkinson's other son Serpens)
Roxie's POV:
"Remember to be respectful of all the teachers because if you aren't I will hear about it, and a Howler will be the least your concerns should that happen. And don't forget you two that Hagrid wants you all down for tea sometime this week." (K)
"Avoid the Rock cakes if you like your teeth." (G)
Liza and I let out a chuckle as mum rolled her eyes at dad's comment. Fred and Dmitri were already on the train with Teddy, looking for a compartment to take over. We had already seen Uncle Harry and Aunt Ginny before they had to leave for work. Now mum was going through everything again, even though she had already told me and Fred all of this last night.
"Eliza will be allowed to go with you on moon nights as will Fred, but Hagrid will be going with you as well. Listen to him, or I will be joining you on moon nights until you graduate." (K)
"Love the train leaves in a few seconds you know." (G)
"Oh Houdini's wand you're right, I love you Roxie, and you too Eliza. Behave, make good marks, try your best. Now get on, get on!" (K)
"And don't forget, I'll be keeping an eye out for you two! So you better behave, or I might just have to make a few visits to the Great Hall this year!" (Scar)
I got one more hug and kiss from mum and dad, and then Aunt Scarlett and Uncle Donovan before mum practically threw us both on the train. Liza and I rushed to find an empty compartment just as the train slowly started to move away from the station. Soon we were waving to our parents from the compartment we had found, as well as to Grammie and Grandad Weasley, as the Hogwarts Express left the station.
I saw mum summon a few tears from her eyes before she elbowed dad for something he must have said. Liza and I laughed a bit as we saw him laughing with Uncle Donovan while both Aunt Scarlett and her rolled their eyes. We watched until they disappeared from view before taking our seats and talking about what we wanted to do at Hogwarts. We were laughing at the idea of having to call Grandma Minnie Professor when we heard a knock on the compartment door and saw my cousin Dominique outside smiling.
"May I sit vith you? Victoire vants to sit vith her friends only." (D)
"Of course. You remember Eliza right?" (Roxie)
"Of course, first year as vell?" (D)
"Yep, at least we'll know a few people already there." (Liza)
I was about to agree with her when I saw two more familiar faces at the door, Lorcan and Lysander Scamander. I waved them both in to sit down and introduced them to Dominique. I saw Liza watch as Lorcan blushed a bit when Dominique complemented his tie and in turn he complemented her braid. I knew that Liza was going to play match-maker between the two just as mum and Aunt Scar do all the time with their own friends. Though they would be a cute couple in a few years I guess.
A few minutes into the ride to Hogwarts and we're all laughing with one another and trying to guess what house we'll be in. I only hope that Liza and I are in the same house, because I want to be in the same house as my best friend if nothing else. We had just started playing a giant game of exploding snap when Fred, Teddy, and Dmitri stuck their heads into the compartment.
"How's my little sis and godsis doing on their first train ride to Hogwarts? Oh and my cousin as well. Nearly a family reunion in here isn't it?" (F)
"We're fine Fred, I know mum said watch after me but you don't have to check up on me every two minutes." (Roxie)
"Eh touchy isn't she Fred, well then we'll be seeing what trouble we can get into then yeah." (Teddy)
"Yah, ve vill. See you later Liza." (Dmitri)
We waved as the boys left our compartment before the conversation turned to Hogwarts and what we thought we should expect. I felt pretty confident in what to expect though since we'd been visiting Grandma Minnie for as long as I could remember at the castle. The only difference for me really would be hunting in the Forbidden Forest, but I was more excited than scared about that really.
"So vhat house vill you be in you think?" (D)
"Not sure Dad was in Hufflepuff like Grandad, but mum was in Ravenclaw." (Lorcan)
"Either one works, even if it's different ones I suppose." (Lysander)
"I think Griffyndor would be nice. Like mom." (Eliza)
"I think if a Weasley ends up anywhere other than Gryffindor it would be legendary and Grand-- Professor McGonagall would have a heart attack." (Roxie)
"I vould agree, but I should think that my father vould be ok vith any house as long as I am happy." (D)
We all found ourselves agreeing with Dominque and were just getting ready to play a second game of exploding snap that Lorcan had produced when the slamming of our compartment door open made us all jump in surprise. We turned to see who had made us all jump and was met by a pig-faced boy that I knew to be Serpens Parkinson and a dark skinned girl with striking green eyes and wavy hair that I had never seen before.
"I can't believe they are actually allowing trash like you attend Hogwarts. I thought that Parkinson had simply fallen off his broom and damaged his brain when he told me, but you're actually here." (Lyra Zambini)
"I'm sorry, but who are you?" (Eliza)
"I'm Lyra Zambini, but I know who each are you are of course. I've heard all the stories from my parents about the deranged half-vampire that prowled about Hogwarts during their last years as students. Your own filthy mother, wasn't it, Weasley? Not to mention your mother Stoykov, a filthy mudblood. Then of course the 'pretty Weasley,' as if there was such a thing. And of course the freaky twins. Our parents told us all about your parents." (Zambini)
"Well then you should know that ours fought on the right side, while yours cowered away on the wrong side." (Lysander)
I was gritting my teeth in anger as the girl seemed to glare at Lysander for saying that before letting out a laugh that was void of anything happy. I saw Parkinson smirk at us for a moment before he looked back down the corridor. It was then I realized he was acting as a lookout for her, doing her bidding just as their parents used to do for each other while on the train to Hogwarts I'm sure.
"You can only say that because you won, but it doesn't make it true does it? Just like everyone saying this bloodsucking monster right here is safe doesn't make it true does it?" (Lyra)
"Get out." (Eliza)
"Or what you filthy little Mudblood?" (Lyra)
"Stupefy!" (Roxie) "Furnunculus!" (F) "Bogey vespertilo!" (Dmitri)
I watched with glee as Lyra was shot back out of our compartment and hit with the boil hex, just as Serpins Parkinson was hit in the face with a bat bogey hex. Lorcan and Lysander started laughing, while Dominque worked to remain dignified as she stifled a laugh. Eliza and I weren't laughing though as only a few seconds after those two disgusting creatures left our sight, our big brothers were standing in the doorway of our compartment with an eerily calm and serious look on their faces.
"Well, as the older brothers I suppose we should tell you that fighting on the train isn't appropriate behavior. Especially seeing as you're first years and shouldn't even know any spells yet." (F)
"But Fred-" (Rox)
"But, seeing as how it was those two, and Parkinson's older brother is in our year and just as horrible, I'm going to scold you for using something as weak as Stupefy when you know so many better hexes to use. Come on Roxie. Do better next time." (F)
I saw a smile spread across his face and then Dmitri's before they joined in on the laughter from the twins. Eliza and I finally let ourselves laugh for a moment before Teddy walked up behind them with a confused look on his face.
"Umm guys...I thought you were looking for the trolley......did I miss something?" (Ted)
His question only set off a second round of laughter for everyone this time, and his confusion only seemed to grow. It was a minute or two later that Fred said he'd explain it all later in their compartment. He slowly nodded before waving to us again and walking out. Fred motioned for me to follow him outside for a moment while Dmitri took a seat next to Eliza. I sighed some, knowing the reason he wanted to talk, but didn't argue as I made my way into the hallway.
"Roxie, what Zambini was saying, none of it's true you know." (Fr)
"I know and it doesn't bother me that much, not nearly as much as we both know it bothers mom. I just.......I don't know. It annoys me that after everything we were told was lost during the war so many years ago there are still people that act like that." (Rox)
"I know, and I wish I could say they're the only ones but they aren't. There are a few that still think that way. But if she and Parkinson ever try to start something again, come tell me or Dmitri, bloody hell tell Grandma Minnie if you have to." (Fr)
"I can take care of myself Fred." (Rox)
"I never said you couldn't Roxie, but I want to make sure you're ok. It's my job as an older brother. Ok?" (Fr)
I didn't say anything in return as I heard him sigh and lean in closer to me, asking 'ok?' again as if I didn't hear him the first time. I sighed this time as I looked up and saw him looking at me with the same look of concern that mom wears a lot of the time. I was annoyed that he felt the need to protect me all the time, but I guess I should be grateful for that too even if it was annoying.
"Ok, fine. But we take them out together." (Rox)
"Fine by me, you'll probably be better at hexes anyway. Now, try and stay outta trouble til we reach Hogwarts, otherwise mum will definately find out." (Fr)
I smiled in the hug he gave before he quickly let go, seeing Dmitri waiting for him in the doorway of the compartment. They both waved as I walked back into the compartment and shut the door, this time drawing the blinds so maybe we would left alone for a while. I let out a sigh as I sat back down by Eliza, the twins finally having stopped laughing for now as they dealt out the cards for exploding snap.
"So, think this year at Hogwarts will be boring?" (Eliza)
"Is there such a thing as a boring year at Hogwarts?" (Rox)
