There is a girl in my bed
She's has hair like a dark ocean
Infinite and enveloping
Her eyes feel like they can see the universe in my soul
She looks past everything to just see who I am, she knows me
Her body is warm to hold but I can feel where she has been hurt, icy cold skin pressed against me as we lay tangled togetherShe is a sight to behold.
The girl in my bed has been hurt and yet she can only show love.
For someone shown such callousness she is so soft.
The waves of life have softened and smoothed her rough edges.
She is a piece of colourful sea glass
My bed is the beach she basks on
When the night falls the stars look down at her with pride
She is as bold and blinding as them
They recognise her as their own
Far from home she has fallen
But she has made this her homeShe sings to me
I can hear the anguish in the melodies but they feel like the ocean gently washing over the shoreline of my heartShe is an undisturbed island abundant with life
Coral grows rich in her heart
Birds soar in her mind
Creatures roam her curves and mountains
The flora is lush and diverse
For she accepts allI wish she knew how much I love her
I wish she knew I don't mean to be so cruel to her
I wish I could remember that she is not separate from me.
We are oneI am alone in my bed.
