(Ashley's POV)

I stood looking at the house for a good ten minutes, thinking of a way to get in without getting caught.

All of a sudden, I remembered the old maple tree that had been there before I even discovered the house. And lucky for me it was right next to the attick window.

I walked over to the tree, and immediately started climbing. I reached up to the lowest branch I could find, and used all of my strength to lift myself up to the point where I could find a place to put my feet.

Considering it was dark out, and my only source of light was a few street lamps, I slowly made my way up the tree. As I climed higher, a cold breeze suddenly hit my bare arms, reminding me of how cold it actually was.

"God I wish I would've grabbed my frikin coat!" I quietly scolded myself.

I knew that I should've, but I ran out too fast and I wasn't thinking.

By the time I finally made it to the window, my arms were completely covered with goosbumps, and all I could think about was wrapping myself in the warm blankets, and resting my head on the soft comfy pillows I had put in there.

I carefully mafe my way from the branch that I was holding onto, tobthe window. I was releived to find that the window was slightly open.

I quietly opend the window the rest of the way, and slid in, hoping I didn't wake anyone.

I almost lost it when I found that all of my blankets and pillows had been removed.

'Damit!' I thought. 'I climed all the way uo that dumb tree, and froze my buttt off for this?! Urgh! Whatever,  I guess it's still better than nothing.'

I sat down and leaned my head against the wall. I'm not sure how long I was siting there just thinking and clearing my head, listening to the crickets chirp outside, but I think it was a good two to three hours.

I finally decided to go back to the prison...I mean my house. But it sure felt like a prison to me.

I made my way out the window, making sure I lef it open a crack, and climed back down to the ground.

It was a good 15 minute walk back to my house, it would have taken longer,  but it was so cold that I practically jogged the whole way.

I made sure there were no lights on before I went to the back of my house where my room was, and climed through the window.

I got my pajamas on, and set my alarm for 5:30 a.m., because tomorrow I had to go back to the only place that I almost hated more than home. School, otherwise known as my other personal Hell!

And this year was going to be worse than all the others. (if that was even possible) Because I started my first year of High School tomorrow.

And I wanted to leave half an hour earlier than most people because I had to walk there and back because my, oh so fucking wonderful mother and father, (note the sarcasm)  refused to drive me anywhere. Which honestly was kind've a relief for me, considering I did my very best to avoid them as much as possible, but it was still a oain in the ass.

I pulled myself out of my thoughts so I could get some sleep.  I crawled into bed and looked uonat the ceiling.

After a few minutes, I finally drifted off to sleep.
