Lea's POV
_____________
"Ok guys, before we go I'd like to just talk about something very very important," I spoke into my mic after the last song.
The crowd was completely silent and I looked over at Andy, Dahvie, and Jayy standing side-stage, they all smiled at me reassuringly. I took a deep breath before speaking, "so earlier today I was released from the hospital, again. I did a stupid thing. It's been a habit of mine for, fuck, over ten years now. I'm sure by now you all know about my self harm or have seen my scars, but its nothing to follow me in.
"I look at you guys, most with scars of your own, meeting me and crying because this band means a lot. Well I was you. Hell I probably still am.. I was a broken kid, I had a happy childhood for the most part but I wasn't happy. I've done therapy, didn't work obviously, I suffer through so much. I don't regret anything I've done to my body. Battle scars. I think they're beautiful. But if you ever regret them then don't make more, correction. Don't make any at all. You're all fucking gorgeous and I love you more then anything. Now I'll be doing a meet and greet today around 6. Come to our tent we'll stay out as long as we have to in order to meet you all. See you then," I smiled at the crowd and walked off stage, unshed tears in my eyes.
"You were great Lea, just like always," Andy's soothing deep voice spoke as he pulled me into a big hug.
Dahvie and Jayy joined the hug, followed by my band, then a quiet voice spoke from behind us, "I'm so proud of you Lea."
Everyone pulled away to reveal my mom standing there. I smiled widely and basically attacked her in a hug. She made an 'oof' noise but let out a small laugh. I pulled back and smiled up at her, "mom what're you doing here?"
"I wanted to check in on you. You're so talented. Lea, I'm so proud of you," she spoke with a warm smile.
I couldn't help but smile back, "I love you mom. So so fucking much."
She checked her watch before giving me a sad look, "I have to go I'm afraid.."
"Why didn't you tell me you were coming we could've done something together," I frowned slightly but still tried to smile. It was a real smile.
"It was last minute and I couldn't not see you play. Listen I love you so much and I'm so proud of who you've become. You'll have to bring Sabby over again soon," she looked away slightly, probably remembering when she first met my daughter.
"Andy and I will definitely come over once tour is over," she raised an eyebrow at me and I mentally face palmed. "Right. Forgot to mention we got back together this morning when I woke up."
"Hi," Andy laughed awkwardly behind us.
She gave me a knowing smile, "I always knew you two would make it. Now I'm gonna go. I love you."
"Love you too mom, bye," I waved after her as she ran off. I turned to everyone else, "so who wants to go out to dinner?"
Everyone suddenly got looks of shock, but Sarah was the first to speak, "sense when do you eat willingly?"
I shrugged, "sense I decided better live life happy. Basically this morning."
Andy's strong cold hands, though they comforted me, wrapped around my waist and he whispered lowly in my ear, "that sounds like a perfect idea."
A shiver moved down my spine and I blushed slightly. "I could eat," Jayy piped up, grasping Dahvie's hand tightly in his. I smiled at them.
"I know the perfect place across the street. They have the best sandwiches," I got excited at the idea of going there.
"Oh god," my brothers voice came from behind us. We all turned and he continued. "Not you and that bread. She can eat so much of it. Well she used to as a child," he smiled fondly, as did I, at the memories of us happy before all the shit happened.
I stuck my tongue out at him, "you're one to talk."
"Well lets go I'm starving," Dahvie whined, earning an eye roll from Jayy.
"You always say that Dahvs," he chuckled.
"That's because you're a bad boyfriend who doesn't feed me enough," Dahvie poked Jayy in the stomach, causing the tall tattooed man to flinch back, but still hold his hand.
"Lets just fucking go already!" Ryan sighed over dramatically and picked up Sara bridal style.
I yelped as I felt Andy do the same to me, and desperately held on, probably hurting him with how much I was digging my long nails into his shoulders. "Calm down darling," he whispered soothingly in my ear.
I nodded then released his shoulders from my deadly grasp and nodded, "let's go!"
Everyone laughed at me and we started on our journey across the street. I smiled at everyone, for the first time in a long time it felt like my life was being actually normal.
