Chapter 6: Mean Encounters ♡

~ Erica's POV ~

"Ok, spill the beans" Skylar demanded as soon as I had reached the yard. It was now first break and everybody was sitting down eating their lunch. I found Skylar sitting under a tree that was not far from the other side of the school.

"Well as you know, me and Emerson are partners for the group thing" I started to say slowly. "No shit, Sherlock. Tell me the juicy stuff" Skylar said cheekily. "Okay, well he hugged me and said I did a good job and then.." I paused to see if Skylar would get pissed because she wanted to know more. "Andddd?!?" Skylar pressed on with a determined face. I laughed at her determined face but continued anyway. "He gave me his number, and offered me to come over his house" I said casually, as if it wasn't a big deal at all. It was a big deal. "Oh my gosh! No way!" Skylar squealed in excitement. That's when I decided to do the same. "He is so hot!" I squealed. Skylar gave me a disgusted look and nodded her head over to the guy she had been checking out.

He was sitting with a large group of teenage boys. "That's Ryder" Skylar said dreamily. Ryder looked a bit similar to Emerson. Tanned skin, brown hair and blue eyes. "Emerson is way hotter though." I said, staring at him. He was sitting with his mates, casually glancing at me every five minutes or so. "Yeah in your eyes honey. Ryder's bae material so back off" Skylar joked with a warm laugh.

I checked my phone to see what time it was. It had only been five minutes, what now? Skylar made up my mind for me as she pulled out her phone. "Selfies on the first day aren't a crime, right?" Skylar grinned at me waiting for approval. "Of course not." I replied and smiled. Click, click, click, click. This went for another twenty times as Skylar and myself kept pulling silly faces and posing like idiots. "Posers for life" I laughed. "Yes mate" Skylar said in her Aussie accent. Skylar then went into the home screen and on her phone and tapped the app Vine.

If you don't know what Vine is, it's where people make 7- second videos and it can be any way they like. I've watched so many hilarious vines before.

Skylar started to record a Vine. "Wait, I'm not ready!" I squealed impatiently. "She wasn't ready" Skylar said cheekily. We both laughed and wasn't prepared for what was behind us. We kept goofing off and making lame jokes then we heard a massive "BOOOO!". Skylar and I turned around to see Ryder grinning cheekily. "Hey girls, didn't mean to interrupt your little video there. I tried to make it better with a jump scare." Ryder said with a grin. I high fived him with and laughed. Skylar replayed the Vine and saw that Ryder's jump scare worked. Skylar than posted it and we kept watching the loops and cracking up, especially Ryder. "Thanks for the guest starring" I said sarcastically. "Anytime" Ryder winked.

I looked at Ryder's face, it seemed to be gazing at Skylar's. Aw, they would be so cute together. I could tell Skylar noticed his staring because she started to blush.

I decided to leave the "couple" alone and went off to get a drink. I walked up to the canteen line but was rudely interrupted by a snobby girl. "Watch where your going, brunette dumbo." I heard a plastic voice and walked away. "Oh look, it's the new girl." I heard another voice and this time I turned around. It was the girl I saw in the morning. Looking more Barbie than ever.

This "doll" had long, blonde hair, blue eyes and a caked face, covered with makeup. "I'm new, your old. Get over it" I snapped back and faced the canteen. I heard a gasp from Barbie and then she decided to insult me again. "Where did you get your clothes, an old granny store?" She laughed in an evil way. I took no offence to that and laughed at her dumb insult. "Don't laugh, you know it's true" She added with yet another evil laugh. I still hadn't turned around yet, because if I did she wouldn't know what hit her.

"Next" The canteen lady called out in front of me. I walked up and smiled. "Hello can I please have one medium coke please?" I asked politely. "Sure sweetie, that will be four dollars." She replied with a smile. The canteen lady passed me the coke and I thanked her.

Then I started making my way over to where Ryder and Skylar were. I was halfway there when I felt a shove and push as I saw my coke spill to the ground. "Sorry new girl, didn't see ya there" Barbie smirked. I was outraged and gave her one of my darkest glares. The canteen lady saw what had happened and immediately rushed to my side. "The principal won't be very happy about this, Brittany." The canteen lady warned and then helped me up. "Thank you" I smiled gratefully. "No worries dear, I'll give you another coke. That girl and her evil mind. By the way, call me Eve" The canteen lady grinned. So, it's my first day. I've already met my future best friend, my crush, my enemy and my canteen lady friend. Life was purely amazing, except for the enemy part. Brittany was probably the "queen bee". I would really love to prove her wrong. I saw her looking outraged and staring daggers at me. I just smirked and walked to where my true friends were.

It was finally the end of the day four hours later. I had a very enjoyable day as Skylar, Emerson, Ryder and I just joked around and goofed off in every class. My first day wasn't exactly perfect, but it was definitely something. I walked over to where the front of the school was, and saw many students getting into their cars leaving or walking home.

I spotted Emerson running up to me with a massive grin on his face. "Hey Erica, glad you could make it" Emerson smirked. I laughed back. "Follow me this way, for the entertaining life of Emerson Lyell and his household and crazy maniac-like family" Emerson announced, trying to sound like a commercial announcer. I cracked up laughing and followed Emerson to his house.
