~OCTOBER 1988~
The water flooded the street. The rain plummeted down from the dark grey sky above. A lonely figure in a yellow raincoat, with green galoshes, ran through the puddles on the street. His name, Georgie Denbourgh. He chased the paper boat inscribed with 'SS Georgie' through the streets, oblivious to the weather falling on his protective clothes.
To anyone, he looked like a child at the prime of his youth enjoying the time in the harsh weathers. To his older brother, he looked like his closest companion playing with the boat he had made for this exact purpose. To one, he looked like the perfect meal...
Georgie rushed after the boat, but as it got caught in the greater current, it got swept away into the awaiting opening to the sewage system.
"NO!" Georgie called out, seeing the boat fall off the edge. He rushed forwards and knelt beside the opening. "Bill's gonna kill me." Before the muttering could continue, he jumped back in fright as a figure appeared in the opening of the sewers.
"Hiya, Georgie." The figure said. "What a nice boat. Do you want it back?" The person asked, holding the paper boat in his hand.
"Yes, please." Georgie replied, never forgetting his manners. While he edged closer to the entrance, gaining a proper look at the person. His face was covered in white powdered make-up, with red lipstick and also made a trail up his face. With his bright orange tuffs of hair and his ruffled collar, he looked like a clown.
"You look like a nice boy. I bet you have a lot of friends." The clown commented.
"Three." Georgie replied. "But my brother's my bestest."
"Where is he?" The clown asked.
"In bed, sick." Georgie explained.
"I bet I could cheer him up, I'll give him a balloon. Do you want a balloon too, Georgie?" The clown asked.
"I'm not supposed to take stuff from strangers." Georgie replied.
"Oh, well. I'm Pennywise the Dancing Clown. Pennywise, yes, meet Georgie. Georgie meet Pennywise." The clown introduced. "Now we aren't strangers, are we?"
"What are you doing in the sewers?" Georgie asked.
"A storm blew me away. Blew the whole circus away." Pennywise replied. "Can you smell the circus, Georgie?" Georgie took a sniff and could smell all different types of food that you would get at a circus. "There are peanuts... cotton candy... hot dogs... and..."
"Popcorn?" Georgie asked.
"Popcorn! Is that your favourite?" Pennywise asked.
"Uh huh!" Georgie replied in agreement.
"Mine too! Because they pop. Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop." Pennywise replied, Georgie joining in with saying 'pop' towards the end. When the pair laughed, and Pennywise cut off, Georgie saw the evil glint in his eyes.
"I should get going now." Georgie explained.
"Without your boat? You don't want to lose it, Georgie. Bill's gonna kill you. Here... Take it. Take it Georgie." Pennywise replied, holding up the boat. Georgie got a better positioning on the floor as he reached his arm into the sewer. Pennywise held the boat further away from Georgie's reach, his eyes turning a bright orange in the time. Georgie reached his arm further into the sewer, and with one swift movement. Pennywise grabbed a hold of his arm and bit into the arm, with his large jaw...
Georgie screamed out in pain, and started calling for help. While dragging himself away from the sewers entrance as best as he could. Screaming for help as he made the rain puddle around him become tainted red in colour. Pennywise reached out from the sewers and grabbed Georgie by the legs, dragging him into the entrance, where he shouted his final word "Billy!".
Georgie Denbourgh was reported missing that day, however at this moment in time only Pennywise the Dancing Clown would know what truly happened...
