Puro's P.O.V

I watched over the human children from the second floor of the ball room as the sun rose, signaling me that they will be waking soon. I didn't move an inch from my spot, eyes becoming heavy. It was quite tiring for just watching the sleeping humans. The young offsprings of older humans slowly started leaving the ballroom, conversations being started and laughter can be heard. Just when my eyes started failing me, I was woken up by a girl that sounded like she had coffee for lunch, breakfast and dinner.

"Wake up lazy butt!" I looked towards a girl with orange hair, standing over a sleeping boy with a pink highlight. Then proceeded to say "it's morning" repeatedly, slowly her voice began singing it just as the boy sat up. I let out a sigh looking at the sight. Then the sound of clicking heels came into earshot, turning my hooded head to see.

"I assumed you wouldn't sleep, so I brought you some coffee along with some pancakes." The witch said holding the mug of coffee in one hand and the plate of pancakes in the other before being followed by a roar that shook the entire building.

"I. Smell. PANCAKES!" A certain ginger haired human roared as we stared awkwardly at each other for a moment. The silence being broken by Goodwitch.

"I suggest you take this else where before Ms. Valkyrie finds it." I nodded in agreement and took my breakfast from her hands and went to see what Peter is up to. I took a sip of coffee from my mug walking the halls of Beacon, getting some looks from passing students. I'm quite thankful for this raincoat from Oz. I reached my destination, opening the classroom door to Port's class to find him trying to force a Grimm back into its cage. The man then looked at me as he fought with the beast.

"Puro my dear boy, perfect timing. Come lend me a hand." After a moment, I sighed and took one last sip of coffee before placing it down on a desk next to me. I walked down between the desks and took off my raincoat to not ruin it, tossing it to the side as I became sticky and slimy latex. I placed my paw around the black boar, the slimy paw shaping around it to form a net. Raising the net into the air caused the Grimm to bounce around in it. I swung it towards the cage, releasing it from the net and turning my body back into its fluffy self.

The Grimm hit the inside of the cage's bars and Port took advantage, quickly slamming the cage shut. When I heard the clicks of the cage being locked, I went back to where my raincoat landed and slipped it back on before going to my plate of breakfast, picking a pancake up with my claw and ate it whole. I took a sip of coffee and let out a pleased sigh. "So these are pancakes, humans make such great food." I picked another up and slurped it before Port came from behind me. "Ah, Puro my boy, I hear from dear old Oz that you'll be joining us as a teacher of sorts." I turned to him with a half slurped up pancake in my mouth before devouring the rest.

When the tasty treat made it down to my stomach, I nodded. "That's correct, I'll be assisting all of you in your teachings. I'm honored to have the chance to with such wonderful humans."

"I'm glad to hear it my boy, hopefully the students will feel the same way." I nodded and took another pancake into my claws, slurping it up. That's when the witch's voice started speaking through the school's speaker, announcing for all first years to meet at the cliff.

"Puro must go now." I sipped the last bit of my coffee and left it along with the empty plate, heading for beacon cliff. The students were all lined up on stone platforms, the old man and witch standing before them as I took my place with them. The students gave me strange looks, possibly wondering why I was there.

"Now that were all here, we may now begin the initiation." Ozpin announced, looking at every student to make sure they were paying attention. "For years, you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest." The witch then took the lead. "Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of "teams." Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... today." I then heard someone speak and looked to find who it was, the one being Ruby.

"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well." The girl made another noise as the man continued to speak. "That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years." With that sentence, it seemed to be the last thing she wanted to hear.

"After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path... or you will die." The old man said, making my precious tail puff from thinking of Ruby laying on the ground motionless. It scared me, it would be like losing Summer again. Not only that, if I let Ruby die... what would Summer think. What would Lin think. I sniffled, my body unintentionally becoming slimy and dripping onto the lush grass. This didn't go unnoticed as everyone on the cliff looked directly at me.

"Is everything alright Puro?" The blonde beside me asked in a concerned tone. Realizing what had happened, I calmed down and nodded, quickly sweeping up the slime with my tail and absorbing it before returning to normal.

"Puro apologizes, I didn't mean to interrupt." My ears had flattened from the embarrassment, not meaning to get emotional openly. Especially in front of the new students.

"That quite alright Puro, it's my fault wording it the way I did. So please, do not worry." The old man ensured, probably knowing what I was feeling or thinking. I nodded to him and looked back to the students, sighing and collecting myself. "Now as I was saying. You will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?"

A blonde boy then quickly raised his hand. "Um yes, I have a question sir?" Ozpin had then flat out ignored him as he told everyone to take their positions. Little did the he know, that there were gears turning underneath their platforms. Preparing to launch them into the air. "Uh, sir? I've got, um..." One of the humans were then launched, the boy not noticing. The question must be really important if he wasn't taking his position. "So, this landing... strategy thing... Uh, wha-what is it? You're, like, dropping us off or something?"

"No. You will be falling." The old man said plainly. Now that I think about it, he didn't seem ready for this level of training like the other humans.

"Oh, uh, I see... So, like, did you hand out parachutes for us?"

"No. You will be using your own "landing strategy." I then witnessed another human be catapulted into the Emerald forest, the girl baring a striking resemblance to Raven before being followed by Summer's daughter. "So, what exactly is a landing strategYYY!..." As the boy was launched into the air, our eyes followed him until we were facing the group of humans flying towards the forest.

"So this how humans learn to become huntsmen... Humans are so amazing."
