Prologue - Just Give Me A Reason

Her husband didn't want to be here. That is the thought going through Samantha's mind as she sat beside him in the beautifully furnished waiting area of Dr. Ferris's Office.

But, really though why would he? Sam sure as hell didn't. Five years of marriage definitely doesn't seem like long enough to have the kind of problems that would lead them here. And it's really not. At least not for them. Not yet...

But, Sam could feel her marriage unraveling. Slowly but surely. And she didn't want to wait to try to fix it later just because five years seemed to early to be having troubles.

As she looked at the incredibly handsome face of her husband and met his cool blue-grey eyes with her own warm chocolate brown ones her resolve only got stronger. Sam knew her husband. She knew when he wasn't telling her things.

She didn't think he was hiding anything big, but she she felt like he wasn't saying enough of the small things for it to begin to matter. Sam didn't know when things started slipping through the cracks, but the conversations had gotten shorter and now they were communicating less and less. And that just isn't like them.

The distance in there relationship was getting bigger and as hard as it was to try to explain she knew something wasn't right. Sam loves her husband to much to stand by and do nothing. He is the one person she knows better than herself and he knows that. He also knows and understands her better than anybody else. That's how she knew that these little somethings were going to turn into something big if they didn't fix it now.

So despite people thinking she was crazy (and believe her she had heard it enough), her stubborn husband, or the fact that she really didn't want to be here Samantha was there anyway. Waiting for their appointment with Dr. Ferris. The marriage counselor.

Tyler sat in the marriage counselor's office slightly frustrated. He kept glancing down at his wife Samantha. The look of pure determination told him they weren't leaving without seeing this Dr. Ferris no matter how much he begged, whined, or reasoned. All of which he had tried before coming here and he was tempted to try them all again.

They didn't need to be here. Sure they had problems but nothing this serious. She was just so sure he was keeping things from her and that they needed to come here to figure out when things started going wrong and how to start talking to each other again.

Bullshit!

Ty didn't need help learning how to talk to Sam. He and Sam had always had a relationship like no other he ever experienced. Sure there are things he didn't talk about with her. But everything doesn't need to be said.

There is nothing serious going on and, Sam knows him well enough to know if there was he would always talk to her about it. He loves his wife very much, but somethings he could handle for himself no conversation needed.

But, as he looked down at beautiful wife as she worried her full lips in concentration Tyler sighed and tried push away his growing frustrations. If she felt like they needed to be here he would humor her just to make her happy. After all he did love her and what could they really find had gone wrong in only five years of marriage.
