Classes are over for the day and i can't help but thank God. I haven't seen Jessie since he yelled my name at the hallway.

I quickly go to my locker to return my books as i pick the ones i got assignments and put them in my backpack.

I am hurrying to the door when someone calls my name. I give a sigh when i turn back to see Merran.

"What's with you? Why are you in a hurry?" I try to think of a lie but she looks at me in a way that was asking if I was really planning to lie to her. Shit! this girl knows me too well. I can't even lie to her.

"Okay, I am avoiding someone and the way you are making me stand here, he will surely see me."

"He? Jack?" I stare at her. Why did I even say he? I should watch my mouth. I look behind and see him talking to other students.

Famous already? Well, the good thing now he won't be on my nerve at-least. As if something usually tells him that I am watching him, he glances at me and winks. Great! Now he will think i am stalking him. I quickly take Merran's wrist and drag her along outside.

"What was that? Are you wanted by the police or something?"

"What? No, It's Jessie. He's annoying and rude and i don't like him at all.

"Your face says otherwise."

"No, it doesn't."

"Yes, it does. "

"Okay, stop. Let's go pick Mark up, he's probably wondering where you are."

"Are you kidding me? Who are you and where is Ernie or are you Jess pretending to be Ernie? Let me remind you that the Mark we know always wants me to pick him up thirty minutes late so that he can prank and bully his friends."

"Yeah right. Let's go to the cafeteria, i need a smoothie."

Mark is Merran's small brother. He likes to pull pranks on people, that's his specialty.

I tell her of our plan with Jack to watch a movie after and she decides to join us. It's always fun when the three of us hang out especially at our house.

Not bragging but our house is one of the biggest and most beautiful houses in Troyville. Troyville is a neighborhood for rich people and also middle-class people i guess.

Just as we have finished our smoothie, Jack comes by. He seems to be in a good mood.

"Hey ladies,"

"You seem to be in a good mood, what's up?" Merran teases him.

"Nothing, wait, am i not allowed to be in a good mood? When i am grumpy, you complain, when i smile, you also complain. What do you want Miss?"

"I want you to love me." She blubbered. "I mean love me and Ernie, we are your best friends, show us some love please, right Ernie?" 'T.W.S.C' #That Was So Close, she whispered to me and I laughed, not able to hold the laughter.

Merran had always had a crush on Jack from the first day she saw him and we became friends and as the years passed, the crush grew to love.

It was a secret between us which i promised to keep even though i was dying to tell him. They actually could make a good couple since they always fight and makeup like married couples.

I am going to secretly ship them. This year is the only chance they got, in college, we might all go different ways and they may end up falling for other people and get married without confessing their love for each other. That would be sad. I will talk to Jess.

"Ow!" That's what he managed to say.

"So Jack, what's with you and Jessie? Are you not going to tell your best friends what is happening?" I say to cut off the awkward moment. I see him twitch at the mention of his name.

"I knew there was something wrong. I saw Jack pinning him to the wall. He was almost scolding him."

"He did what? Okay spill it out, what's really going on?"

"Nothing okay. Let's go pick Mark up and we can go to your place," His tone had changed.

Avoiding what had happened, we get up and go to the middle school side.

Rockville high school and middle school are in the same compound but far from each other. It's a big school with a very big compound.

For the first time, we find Mark not bullying and pranking his fellow students and instead he is talking sweetly to a girl. When he sees us, he bids her goodbye and willingly comes with us. Awkward.

"Bad boy has gone soft, huh?" I tease.

"Hey, she's just new that's why. Wait till she gets used to the school and she'll find gee on her hair." He says and laughs.

"That's mean."

Mark and i get along pretty well unlike him and Merran. Maybe it's coz I've always wanted a small sibling.

"Hey M, will you let me ride the motorcycle today? You promised me, remember?"

"You got me there. Okay, you are lucky i am going to Ernie's house, I'll ride with them. As long as you won't tell mum I let you ride it. That's a death wish for you."

"Okay, I promise."

"Oh, and when you get home, do your homework first before playing games and don't give Mrs. Adams a hard time."

"Okay, okay got it."

When we got to the school parking lot, Merran gave Mark her keys and he got on the bike and left. As for us we hoped in Jack's car and went home.

Will they find out what Jack is hiding?
