I stare at Jessie in awe; her wedding dress is beautiful. I never thought of myself as the marrying kind, but standing here at the altar with my beautiful mate and soon-to-be wife, I can't feel any better about the decision. The last eleven years flash before my eyes, from the day I met her to today. My eyes start to tear up. I remember the little girl she used to be crying over her lost mate while I tried to be a man and not let my feelings get in the way. All the times we would be out fighting, and she would beat me up and help me fix my wounds, all the times she would sneak out or get on my nerves, the day I realised she was my mate, all the dates, the marking, her giving birth to our son everything just flashes before my eyes. On the battlefield, after defeating the threat and me getting on one knee with no ring and promising, everything feels right for once in my life.
I look to my side and see the ghost of my first mate smiling at me with a nod to tell me this is how it should have been before disappearing into thin air. My eyes shift back to Jessie, holding our son in her arms in a mini tux while walking in her mermaid-style wedding dress. this is how it was meant to be.
"do you, alpha James, take luna Jessie to be your beloved wife, in sickness and in health, until death does you part," the pack priest asks. I just smile
"is that even a question? Of course, I do" I smile out, locking eyes with Jessie
"do you, luna Jessie, take alpha James to be your beloved husband in sickness and in health until death, do your part?" he asks Jessie. My eyes never leave hers; I can sense my wolf pacing around all happily
"I do", she finally lets out, handing jake to her friends before coming back to me
"You may now kiss the bride", the priest lets out before baking up. I pull Jessie to me so she is flat up against my chest and kisses her deeply, not allowing her to get away.
Pulling Jessie with me, we rush inside and up to our room. I had already told Amber, Tony, and Jamie that they had to look after jake for the night while Jessie and I finally got a good night's sleep
"I love you", I smile, kissing Jessie's lips before pulling her to my chest and watching tv with her pressed against me
