"I love you too"

chapter 2

Thanks to their demigod senses, Leo and Y/n quickly turned to face the monster behind them. Leo already had a fireball in his hand and Y/n had her sword. They charged at the black beast together. Leo's fireballs set the monster on fire, while Y/n lunged with her sword. She aimed at the monster's gut, which seemed like the softest place to hit. Her sword went through the monster's stomach as it gave a piercing howl. Leo jumped on the creature's back and hit the side of its head with a hammer. This only seemed to irritate the monster. 

It slammed its head back, roaring with anger, and making Leo fly off and into a bush. The monster threw his talons toward Leo, knocking the boy down a second time. He groaned as he tried to get up, while Y/n threw her knife at the monster's eye. It yelled in pain. Then she thrust her sword into the creature's stomach again and again, until it finally burst into dust.Breathing hard, Y/n ran over to Leo and helped him up. He had a big cut on his head, which was bleeding madly. There was also a bit of green stuff around the wound.

"Oh gods your head!" Y/n exclaimed. She summoned a bit of water, putting it on Leo's head. He flinched.

"I'm okay..." he said.

"No you're not," Y/n continued the healing process, giving her own energy to the water in order to heal the wound. The bleeding slowly stopped, and the cut looked less fresh. Y/n took her hands off of Leo's head, breathing in deeply.They both struggled to their feet. Y/n was feeling light headed already. Normally the healing only took a fraction of her energy, but she felt like she had just brought someone back to life. Maybe it had been poisonous. She leaned against Leo.He looked down at her with worried eyes.

"What happened?" He asked.

"Nothing," Y/n mumbled. 

"Come on. You look like a piece of chalk. Also, please don't pass out now okay?" Y/n glared at him with tired eyes. 

"I think the monster's fingers were poisoned. It could've killed you with that cut." Leo flinched and he took Y/n hand, like he needed to feel her presence. 

"Do you mean it's going to ... kill you?" He asked quietly. 

"I don't think so."

As soon as they stood up, the monster came running at them with a spear. There was no time for either of them to even think and Y/n watched in horror as the spear went through Leo's chest.
