Katrina:
"Bye Jerome!" I waved as I walked into my apartment. He waved me goodbye and walked off into darkness.
"Mama, dada I'm home." I chirped as I walked in.
"We're going to visit your aunt in Texas, so I thought we could let you stay in nana and papa's farm for the week." they smiled. My heart leaped in joy. Just imagine, a whole week with both your favorite people in the world! Normal girls would rather spend their free time doing mani and pedi and reading Teen Wolf Magazine or whatever ever but I'd rather be sitting on a haystack, sucking on a honey pop while reading Romeo and Juliet.
"That sounds splendid, mama and papa. Thank you!" I hugged them.
"Now would you be a dear and take the garbage out now, Trina?" my mother asked. I nodded and grabbed the huge black bags. As I exited the apartment, I heard a faint scream that sounded like... Giselle's.
Giselle:
Talia started mewing uncontrollably, so I turned around and headed to the spare room to get her cat food. Even I don't get that kind of royal treatment on my birthday. On my birthday. She purred as she licked up the rest of the cat food.
"You spoiled thing." I sighed. The door swum open and as a totally normal response of stimuli, I turned my head around and screamed:
"HOLYCRAPHEAVENLYFATHERWHATHEHELLWASTHAT?"
"Gis, it's just me." my mother laughed.
"Oh hey mum you're back from your shift?" I asked.
"Nope, still gotta get back to the bar and keep those drunk motorcyclists in line." she sighed.
"Okay, bye." I replied.
"MEOWEEE!" Talia purred.
"Okay, okay, Your Royal Highness." I picked her up and brought her to the rooftop garden. Just as we reached the top, Talia hissed like a freaking snake it scared the living shit out of me.
"What the hell, Talia! You could've caused me- what. the. shit. are. those." I said, staring at a whole flock of crows surrounding me. Suddenly, their tiny beady eyes turned into those of a human. Their ruffling, beautiful wings turned into majestic arms of humans. All their features became human, but their coats were made of crow feathers. Talia hissed once again and ran back to the comfort of our home. Fat lot of help she was for me. All the crow-humans began encircling me.
"What is this? A satanic ritual?" I joked nervously.
"Our Lord Strahan will be terribly pleased with us." one crow-human cackled, grabbing my hands.
"Back off." I warned. I slapped his hand. A bit of his skin sizzled and melted off. I looked at my hands. I was wearing an iron ring.
"These things must be faeries. They can't ever touch iron." I thought, finally mentally thanking Katrina for making Jerome and I to watch those horribly boring Medieval Movies. A loud screech broke off my thoughts. I turned around, and to my surprise, King Arthur was there, sword in hand.
"Stay away!" he screeched, waving his sword around.
"Giselle! Get into your house now!" he continued, shoving an iron necklace into my chest. His hand was bruised badly. I clung onto the iron pendant and ran into my house. I watched the whole thing unfurl on my rooftop garden.
"NO!" I screamed as I saw the crow-humans push King Arthur down the edge. I wondered how my mother will react to a dead body of a knight on the ground when she returns. The crow-humans took a final glance at me and vanished into thin air. I wondered whether it wall al just a dream. But them I touched the necklace and I knew, everything was real. Just then, my mother came in, looking all over the house.
"Where the hell are my keys?" she swore. I wondered whether I should tell her about what just happened. It would either land me in:
a) a Police Station
or
b) a psychiatrist's office.
Anyway, I just gathered the balls to tell her. I explained the whole thing to her, even about the necklace. She took a good look at it and froze on the spot. She shuddered, but tried her best to hide her fear. She gasped for air and ran to the room with the house telephone grasped in her palms. She locked the door. All I could hear was:
"Helen, call me. It's starting." she just called my aunt.
