I really like El but I don't have the guts to tell her as any other teenage boy would- like id try but my hands get clammy and my breathing stops being stable and I just can't take it anymore, so, obviously, I asked my bud.

So my best friends name (one of them) is Lucas Sinclair and he is currently dating this girl named Max, to be honest she's kinda annoying but we're pals I guess.

Anyways so the plan is that Lucas goes up to El and says "Hey, want to go to the movies with me, Max and Mike? and she'd be all like "Ahhh oh emmmm geee TOTES"

no my El isn't like that, she's special and different that's why I like her. But she'll say yes. definitely.

Okay okay I know this sounds like a elementary kid school plan but think about it, if it always worked back then why not now right?!

Lucas is approaching her let's hope he knows the plan. I lean over the door, full Scooby Doo style. He just passed me to go ask El. Max is seated right next to her and she kinda knows what's going on fully.

"Mike wants to go on a date with you. Tonight. Star court Diner. Me and Max will be on a date there. Double Date. 5:30. Hope to see you. Adios!" Lucas flashes a smile, thumbs up, and is attempting to leave the room.

"Sounds go-" El starts to say

"Oh my god NOOOO way.You can't say yes to that El!" Max cuts her off

"Wouldn't you want MIKE to tell you himself? Instead of being shy and hiding behind his friend right? Huh?" Max states confidently

I'm not gonna lie here I was sweating like a dog, this happened way more smoothly in 5th grade

"Like what does Mike think this is? 5th grade!?"

El starts to giggle. "I guess it would be nicer from Mike himself." Lucas stood there awkwardly and has been inching himself forwards the door slowly for the past 3 minutes this has been going on.

"Mike. Your up. I'm bouncing." Lucas says in short sentences with his fingers pointing to the door

Lucas nudges me which makes me fall in front of the door frame which is super embarrassing.

"K-O" Max yells, it's a video game reference My ears were filled with the giggles of El and Max. They're friendship is adorable though so it's okay I guess.

I get up and wipe the dust off my pants

"You need Lucas' help with walking too?" Max snaps at me

She's not happy

"I- uh- sorry I get shy around you El" Mike says scratching the back of his neck and looking to the side

"I think its cute" El says blushing with a huge smile

"You're gonna let him off this easy?" Max says in shock

"No way! He's gonna make it up to me tonight at Starcourt Diner at 5:30" El says grinning

"Will do." I reply immediately and turning around to leave

"Smooth" I hear Max say while I walk out the door.
I hear them high-five
