(Y/N) Pov:

Four days left before we leave Kanto.

And we still haven't retrieved the keycard.

Me, Guzma, Grunts A and B, and my grandmother were at the Pokémon Tower. It's a place where you can bury deceased Pokémon after they have passed.

We stood over the grave of Absol up on the seventh floor of the tower.

Guzma had his arm around my shoulder, holding me close and Grunts A and B stood on either side of us.

Grunt A was silently crying over the loss while Grunt B had his arms crossed and his eyes glaring off to the side, angry.

My grandma was standing just in front of the grave.

Absol
Beloved Pokémon.
Performed alongside (grandmother's/N)
(L/N) in the Pokémon Showcase and became the Pokémon of the Champion of Alola, (Y/N) (L/N).
Died July 10, 2019

Grandma kneeled down and gently placed Absol's pokeball and knecklace (cleaned and polished) down on the grave. The Absolite was still cracked, but it was still being held together somehow.
Grandma stood up and walked over to us, nodding her head sadly.

We all agreed and left, allowing Absol to finally have some peace.

I didn't know what to do.

What am I going to tell everyone back in Alola?

I sat alone on a bench just outside of Pokémon Tower.

I needed some alone time.

Grandma had taken Guzma and the Grunts over to her house just in the next town over.

It's where she had been living ever since she disapeared.

I sigh as I looked down.

"GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE! YOU STUPID PIECE OF CRAP. YOU'RE A WEAK POKÉMON AND DON'T DESERVE TO BE TRAINED!!!" I heard someone scream.

I jumped from the volume and sheer loudness.

I looked over to my right and saw a teenage girl smashing a Dusk ball down on the ground, smashing it.

The Pokémon that was inside the pokeball was cowering in fear, too scared go move as the girl yelled at it.

"GO! I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU EVER AGAIN!" screamed the girl before turning around and stomping put of the cemetery.

The Pokémon in question was a Banette.
It was shaking in fear, looking around.

I watched as it helplessly wandered around the cemetery before getting spooked by a Gengar as it jumped out of one of the graves, trying to lick it.

The Banette was so scared it was petrified in fear.

I couldn't watch it getting tormented like this.

There are no Banette or Shuppets here in Kanto, as far as I know. It would never fit in.

I got up from the bench and walked over to the Banette, kneeling down just a couple meters away.

"Hey there little Banette. Don't worry, I'm not here to hurt you. I want to help" I say softy, smiling.

I reached my hand out to show it I didn't mean any harm.

The Banette jumped at my soft voice, too scared to move.

I got an idea and took out a pokebean from my purse.

I held it out for the Banette to take.

"Here. You must be hungry" I say, smiling gently.

The Banette hesitantly took the pokebean at first, but seemed to relax a little as it ate.

After it finished, it glanced up at me and rushed over, burying it's face in my leg as it started shaking in fear again.

"Aww, don't worry little Banette. Everything will be alright" I say softy, picking it up in my arms and holding it like a baby.

The Banette seemed to relax and doze off as I walked over to the bench and sat down again.

I sigh as I held the Banette in my arms.

"You know. I lost a loyal Pokémon just a few days ago. We just got her buried today. She was an Absol. I knew she was going to die someda, but I never thought it would come so soon. To be fair though, she was my grandma's Pokémon, so she was pretty old, which was understandable" I say, looking down at the Banette.

I smiled gently when I noticed the Banette was trying not to fall asleep while also trying to listen as I spoke.

"She had a long and happy life though. She will always be in my heart" I say, smiling.

The Banette smiled up at me, cuddling closer in my arms as it dozed off.

I walked into my grandma's house.

I walked into the living room and saw that the grunts and Guzma were seated on one sofa while my grandma sat on a recliner facing them.

"Ah! (Y/N), I'm so glad you could join us. Guzma was just telling me how you two are dating. I'm so glad you were able to find such a nice young man to be your partner" she said, smiling.

Guzma blushed brightly but nodded.

I giggled and sat down next to him.

I noticed Grunt A was clutching a stuffed Mega Absol toy and had fallen asleep on one side of the sofa.

Grunt B was drinking a mug of tea.

"Thanks grandma. Oh! And guess who I befriended while at the cemetery!" I exclaimed, smiling.

"Who?" Asked grandma, curiously.

I adjusted the sleeping Banette in my arms so everyone could see.

"You found a-?" Started Grunt B, doing a spit-take.

"I thought there weren't any Shuppets or Banettes in this region! Much less at the Pokémon Tower!" Exclaimed Guzma, shocked.

"I thought so too. But she wasn't wild. She was abandoned. I felt bad after her trainer left her all alone. She was so scared and petrified, I couldn't just sit there and watch her get tormented by the other Ghost Types. I had to take her with me!" I explained, allowing the young Banette to cuddle into my arms.

"You made a good call. The other Ghost Types would have bullied her for being out of region. You made the right choice" said grandma.

She then started thinking.

"What is it?" I asked, noticing the loop on her face.

"Well, it is said that after a Pokémon dies, it turns into a Ghost Type" said grandma.

"But wouldn't she be a Shuppet then?" Asked Guzma.

My grandma nodded.

"Perhaps I was too quick to think. You're correct Guzma. But it was nice to speculate too" she said, smiling gently at the Banette in my arms.

I smiled down at her as well as she cuddled my hand.

"Welcome to the team Banette" I say, smiling down at her.
