Daughter of Justice

a shrinking feeling

When we returned to the Hall of Justice we did not go into a meeting room as I expected.
  Wonder woman led me to a glowing tunnel as she walked up to it I hesitated.
   "Don't worry" Wonder woman said "this is a boom tube and we're taking this to the to get to the others; the Hall is a little too exposed for us to let our guard down"
  As she stepped close a flat female voice said "recognize Wonder woman A3."
"Computer  protocol 27  Wonder woman A3 ,guest override"
"Order recognized "said the cool voice
Wonder woman director head towards me then stepped into the spiral of light and disappeared.
I froze indecision for just a moment or two then shrugged it off. So far no one had done anything to hurt me and Diana had gone first. So I stepped into the tunnel of light.
    An indescribable feeling of being moved through time and space. It only lasted moments before my feet slam down on a slightly uneven surface. I stumbled and almost drop the pizza before strong arms caught me .
    I looked up and up to meet a gaze that matched my own eyes. same exact shade of blue were set in  a male too young to be Superman but who is obviously related the Man of steel.
    (So this is Superboy )well, I've always wanted an older brother (wonder what he'll think of me  what powers does he have? Will he even like me?does he like Greek Pizza too?Oh geez -I'm staring !!what am I doing !Pizza!- I've got to take a pizza somewhere!  crap! Wonder woman?!) 
  Superboy's I brow raised in a questioning  way.
"Sarah, your projecting again" Megan said. I felt myself flush in embarrassment. I looked around realizing that I was not alone with Superboy no ,of course, the room was filled with other teenagers in civilian clothes and hero dress alike.
Wonder woman stepped up close having been relieved of her pizza boxes by.... a green skinned gorilla???

"Everyone I would like to introduce you to Sarah she's here for testing and training now before we all dig into Pizza.
"Raise your hand if you we're mentally linked , how many of you could understand what she was saying?"

In the room only three people raise their hand Megan,Superboy,& the Green gorilla who suddenly turned into a green skin boy who happened to be the closest. I physically shrank a little almost to the point of looking like a toddler.
"No worries shrinky dink" said the green skin boy "we all have to start somewhere'
  "Here Garfield take those other pizzas to the kitchen"Miss Martian said
"Sure thinks sis." Super boy relieved Sarah of her boxes as  'Garfield,' troted  out of the room.
Diana and Megan followed .
"Pineapple and Ham"
I looked back to Superboy
"what"
"pineapple and Ham is my favorite pizza "
Oh
"Come on we'd better get in there before they eat all of it."
He gave a small smile .
  As I fallowed my ?brother? I finally took in my surroundings .(are we in a cave? Why would anyone hangout in a cave?)

"This is the home base for the younger members of the Justice league. "Superboy answered
(Oops)
"Sorry, Superboy"he shrugged
"Conner,"
(Conner, why is everyone so nice ? I mean I knew they were heros but I'm just a lab mistake.) images of her "father" looming over me fashion my mind I could still remember the feeling of that knife at my throat (no) I thought to myself (I'm not the freak I might have been created in a lab I am just as real as anyone here)

Connor stopped suddenly & turned I saw anger in his brows but when he spoke there was utterly kind
"Dosnt matter where or how you were born or with what powers . No matter what anyone tells you you have to believe in yourself"

I cried, I couldn't help it .In last 48 hours I have been kidnapped and beaten by a clown ,saved by Batman, have Wonder woman want to adopt me and now this young man who was biologically my brother/ cousin was telling me that I was worth something blubber and cried I let out all the stress and sorrow and anger of the last 8 months
And I tried my best I really did try to keep my mind shut but so hard to control when I'm feeling overwhelmed.
at that moment I felt and heard every single thought of every person in this cave it was it was so loud I gripped my ears trying to not listen not that it would help but the closest voice to me I realized was an actual voice and not a thought
"Sarah ,hey you need to breathe come on take a breath. that's it. good job don't pass out on me. it's it's okay we've got you ,it's okay"
   Unfortunately I was unable to obey that voice the last thing I felt was the worry of three others around me before my world went black.
