Riah POV

He was lying in a small bed, unconscious with a tube in his arm and I could hear his heart beating slower and slower. I could barely breathe, and tears were streaming down my face uncontrollably.

Once I was finally able to stand up and crouch over him, I grabbed his hands in mine and squealed, "What happened?"

Running his hand through his hair, Marcel sighed. "We were at Le Club looking over more security footage, when he ordered a drink. After consuming it, he collapsed. We got here in time for him to recover, but I'm still worried he might not make it based on what happened to Malik."

Rubbing Demitri's cold hand, I gritted my teeth in anger. "I will find whoever is doing this, and I will rip their fucking throat out." My voice sounded harsher than intended, but I don't care. Seeing the love of my life, laying in a small bed, unconscious with his lips turning blue and his skin paler than usual, tore me up inside. I've never seen him so weak, so fragile.

I narrowed my eyes towards Marcel, "How do I know you aren't behind all of this? You were around during both of the poisonings, after all." I instantly hated myself for spitting those words at one of the closest people I have in my life, but I can't help it. I can feel Demitri's pain like it is my own.

Sadness with a mix of disappointment flashed through Marcels eyes as he opened his mouth to speak, but quickly closed it and pursed his lips.

I took a deep breath and rubbed my hand up my face, "I'm sorry. That was uncalled for." My voice was a whisper, but he nodded and gave me an understanding look.

My heart ached as I searched my mates face, his expression was twisted in pain as if he was in a constant state of hurt. His usual neat demeanor had been gone as his hair was disheveled and his cheeks looked a bit sunken in. I want nothing more than to see him flutter his eyes open and give me those beautiful ocean eyes.

The tears running down my face had gotten more intense, and soon I was kneeling down sobbing, with my forehead pressed against his clammy palm. Excusing himself to give me some alone time, Marcel quietly shut the door behind him, immediately causing me to scream in pain as my mind came crashing down.

I don't know what I'd do if I lost him, I can't live without him. He's supposed to be with me forever, love me forever as I do him, and rule beside me forever. I had never fathomed this day would ever come.

After a minute of soaking the bed sheet with my tears, I heard the door slowly creak open, making me snap my neck up to whoever was walking in.

Marbella gave me a sad smile as she carried in some more bags for the drip. Her skin was flushed and her eyes were red from crying. Her expression looked almost disappointed, something I've never seen on her face. Confusion swarmed me but quickly left as I reminded myself I'm not thinking straight.

Marbella cleared her throat as she finished switching the solution bags, "He's stable. From the looks of it, he should be waking up soon. I have high hopes that he is stronger than Malik was, and he will survive." She sounded very sure of herself.

Nodding, I sniffled as I rubbed my nose and placed my head back down on Demitri's hand. As Marbella placed her hand on my back, I couldn't help but feel a weird shock of warmth run through me before a scene began to appear in front of me, soon there was a hooded man. But as my vision cleared, everything faded and I was back in the hospital room.

What the hell just happened? I have never had a vision disappear from me like that, it's like I had no control over my element. Gasping quietly, I looked back up at Marbella. A concerned look flashed across her face, but for some reason it looked, forced?
