Sitting here with Lily was something I never saw coming. She was able to keep the conversation flowing and it didn't feel like the conversation was straining at all. It was after a few hours that Sara came over to our table and I knew out alone time was going to end.

"Hey girl, we are going out onto the dance floor want to come?"

"Yea, thanks for the chat Lucas." I watched her slide out of the booth and followed Sara and the other girls onto the dance floor where they just started moving to the music with out a problem. The Brunette started dancing with Lily and I could feel myself get a little jealous that I wasn't with her dancing.

"Hey man come sit with us." Chris hit my shoulder to get my attention to him. He was right I should move from the table I was at by myself to the guys. Chris had four more beers and set them down on the table as we slide into the booth.

"How was your evening Mitchell?" Chris was just looking at me waiting to see how I would react.

"I could ask you the same thing."

"We weren't by ourselves for two hours."

"Okay but it's not like we went anywhere. I was just getting to know her." To completely truthful I wasn't done trying to get to know her. I feel like even after the two hours we really didn't know each other.

"Still what do you feel about her?"

"She's not different. I am not looking for anything serious. I don't see it going anywhere." I could see the guys all looking at me like they were picking apart everything I was saying.

"You're telling me when you look over there at those girls you don't feel anything for Lily?" I turned my head to where they were all dancing still and I couldn't answer him because the way the light was hitting them it made Lily look even better. I had not idea how to explain how I was feeling.

"I get feelings when I look at any pretty girl."

"This is different and you know it. Whether you want to admit it or not she is different to you." I just watched Lily and tried not to look at the guys. I knew I couldn't always hold what I was thinking inside. I knew that deep down there was something different about her and now that I was getting to know her more I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep moving forward. I knew that the more I got to know her the more I was entering uncharted waters and I wasn't sure if I was up for the swim. I turned my attention away from the dance floor and back to the guys around the table.

"How's the house going?"

"It has been keeping me busy. I just finished the deck last week and planted the flowers and shrubs the other day." These last few days have been busy with getting the deck looking nice and not a construction zone. Tomorrow we would be heading back to work for 24 hours. The shifts weren't horrible but sometimes the things that would be seen during the course could traumatize anyone. Having this job can be hard at times but that is why I have my release in the random hook-ups and going out with the guys.

"I plan on having a big blow out party in a few weeks to celebrate summer and the house finally coming together with you guys."

"Awesome Mitchell." The guys know how to party and we usually get together multiple times in one summer.

"Hey you come dance with me." Sara was at our table right next to Chris motioning for him to go with her. I had a feeling that Chris would be leaving the single world soon. Those two had some serious vibes happening and they would eventually fall for each other.

"I'll go any where with you." Chris stood up from the table and let Sara led him to the dance floor. I took another sip of my beer and watched Chris make a fool of himself on the dance floor. I tried not laughing out loud because I knew I wouldn't look any better out there.

"Dancing not for you firefighter?" I looked up to see Lily making her way into the booth.

"No I don't want to embarrass myself out there. Especially next to you girls out there who know how to kill it." She laughed and I just shook my head.

"We are not that good. You could always go out there and save your friend." I paused for a second to act like I was thinking about going to save him but in the end I just started laughing.

"Not a chance, he is to into Sara that he would do anything. He wants to do anything to stay in her good graces."

"I don't think he needs to try that hard. I get the feeling that she feels the same way about him."

"I know but he still wants to try until it is official I guess." I don't blame him he can mess up at any minute and then he would be without her and having nothing again. I know this girl is different for him because he doesn't usually try to get a girl he would go for the easy take and move on the next day.

"If it makes her feel better than you can let her know he has never tried this hard before with any girl."

"What would make you think I would tell her anything?"

"Come on you girls tell each other everything. Doesn't matter how long you have known each other you look out for each other."

"Okay that is true but I don't want to put myself into her personal relationship that isn't my place." I just nodded at her and lifted the beer to my mouth again. It was when I took the last sip that I looked around the table and notice the other guys must have snuck out of the booth from the other side. I saw them on the dance floor with some girls. Badge bunnies always knew how to spot a uniformed guy and would do anything to go home with them at night.

"Do you want another drink?" I noticed she hasn't had anything since that one glass of wine.

"No thank you. I had enough with that one glass plus I have to head home soon." I looked at my watch and noticed it was 12:30am which means the bars were only open for a few more hours and we had work in the morning.

"I didn't even notice the time. I need to start heading home I have to work in the morning. Do you need a ride home?" I watched her turn to the girls on the dance floor and saw her watch them dancing with other people.

"Yes that would be amazing. I don't think they will be leaving anytime soon. Let me just let them know I am leaving." She walked over to Sara and whispered in her ear and gave her a hug and made her way back to me once she said goodbye to everyone.

"Alright I am ready to go." We made out way out of the bar and I pointed her in the direction where my truck was parked.

"Don't worry I just had two beers tonight and they were hours apart." She gave a nod and I unlocked my doors and she made her way into the passenger side. I got in the truck and started the engine.

"Where am I going?" She gave a laugh.

"I live in armory square a few blocks over. I could walk if it is a hassle."

"No that is fine. No one should walk home alone." I pulled out of the parking lot and made my way towards armory square.
