His Broken Smile

Sorry for the long wait, I didn't know what to write about but then this came to my head. It's inspired from a comic(I've changed it a bit) but I can't remember where i read it, so the plot isn't mine. If you have any suggestions on what I should write, please tell me and I'll be really grateful.

Cat Noir is my favourite character in the fandom and for many reasons. But I think the guy deserves more credit and attention...

"How's the akumatized victim Ladybug?

"What do you do in your spare time Ladybug?"

"How did you find the fight Ladybug?"

"Can you give us any hints to your true identity Ladybug?"

All the reporters surrounding Ladybug flashed their cameras at her, bombarding her with questions and expecting answers for each of them. The heroine answered as many as she could, leaving anything personal behind and smiling at everyone in her sight.

She even smiled at Alya.

But Alya was interested in a different figure.

The figure had already comforted the akuma victim, giving the small child reassuring hugs and calming him down. After the child was returned to his family, the figure stood beside Ladybug. No attention was given its way and on its face was the smile it wore every time this happened. Alya was inspecting this smile and looking more closely, she realised that this wasn't the smile the figure gave after the first akuma attack.

The smile was slightly forced but no one would really notice that small detail; it wasn't as broad as it used to be; it didn't look happy.

It was a broken smile.

The worst part was, the figure who wore the broken smile was none other than the superhero Cat Noir.

And Alya felt horrible.

She wasn't different from these reporters, always interrogating Ladybug's personal life. Each and every time, everyone would forget about the other half of the duo, he would just stand beside Ladybug. But no one would ask him anything.

Cat Noir was the person who always recklessly sacrificed himself for Ladybug, not even thinking about himself; he was too selfless for his own good and held the ultimate power of destruction in his hands. For all she knew, he could destroy the world.

And just by looking at videos of him, Alya could tell that he was hiding a lot. Maybe stuff in his civilian life. But he was one of the brightest people in Paris and didn't get nearly enough credit.

The boy needed to know he was worth it.

Right on cue, Ladybug's earrings beeped as a five minute warning.

"See you later everyone, remember to stay safe! Bug out," after giving a warm smile to everyone and waving bye to Cat Noir, Ladybug swung away from the crowd, making everyone cheer and shout in amazement and appreciation. Alya looked at Cat Noir to gauge his reaction but all he did was smile. A wistful, dreamy, lovesick smile adorned his features.

The ladyblogger kind of wanted to smack the superhero. Or give him a big hug.

He didn't get nearly enough attention that he deserved. All of that went to Ladybug. Yet he didn't hate her. It didn't look like he ever could.

The crowd slowly started to separate, everyone was going back to their normal life. Cat Noir remained however. But it wasn't as if anyone looked his way. A few of the children pointed at him, but the adults close to them pushed them away from him. Soon the park was close to its normal amount of people. Alya noticed that Cat's eyes scanned the area and then he looked into the distance. A pained expression appeared on his face, but it disappeared as quickly as it came. He held out his baton and started to run away from the park.

That was her chance.

She ran as fast as the wind. Pushing past people; dodging trees and jumping over benches. Some civilians were staring at her but at the moment she couldn't be bothered to care. Just then, she found herself in an alleyway, where Cat was about to leap onto the roof.

"CAT NOIR!"

The young boy snapped around, the greenness in his eyes startled Alya and the muscles in his arms shone in the sunlight. His face was panicked until he saw that she was safe. A surface of confusion took over him.

"Alya, right? Is there any danger near by?"

He knew her name! She wasn't the Ladyblogger to him, he was ALYA! Before she could ponder over it, she realised that she had to answer his question.

"Yeah, umm..sorry...there isn't any danger nearby, its just that-"

"Why were you running?"

The expression on his face was even more adorable than Manon's baby doll eyes. It wasn't pure innocence, it was pure curiosity. The desire to know more;the desire to be appreciated; the desire to be wanted.

" I, urhh...wanted an interview."

The Cat hero sighed and looked up into the sky. His shoulders sagged and his muscles relaxed. He looked at Alya, saying sorry with his eyes.

"I'm really sorry Alya, but Ladybug's already left. I can tell her when I next see her to spare some time for you if you want..."

This was unexpected. Did he really think no one wanted to interview him? To be fair, her blog did have more Ladybug content, but that was before she  saw the broken smile on the poor boy's face. She was going to change her approach and make her blog more equal. After all, it was the least he deserved for saving Paris.

"Acctually, I didn't want to interview Ladybug."

"Then why were you-"

"I wanted to interview you."

I know its really bad, but I'm just learning the ropes. I might do a part 2...

This is also exaggerated, Cat definitely doesn't get enough credit but he does get a bit of attention. Not nearly as much as he should though

Anyway, I'll update when I can ! :D
