I made it to my last period on time, when something unexpected happened, this girl talked to me. She had beautiful blond hair and deep green eyes, something you don't see very often.

She smiled at me and whispered, "Hey, I'm kind of new here, and don't really know how this works, mind if ya show me around a bit after school?" I nodded nervously, and she continued, "Oh, how rude of me! My name's Leslie. How 'bout you?" Shit, I was freaking out, this poor girl was asking me for help and I was just standing there like an idiot.

"Ja..ne" I mumbled. "What?" "Jane... M-my nam..e is..Jane..." That last part sounded like a whimper. I wanted to slap myself. "You don't talk a lot, do you?" Well, you don't say? I shook my head instead, I rather be a loser than a bully. "Oh well, nice to meet you, Jane!"

We met after school and talked a little bit, I was starting to feel a little bit secure while being around her. After most people left the school, I looked at her schedule and showed her the way around the school. I told her about my "difficulties" with talking to strangers, knowing this girl was not like any bitch you meet behind the school. Unlike most people, she had a heart made of gold. And that's something to appreciate.

A few weeks later, we had become best friends. Leslie and I did everything together, she made me feel more secure whenever she was around, and we ended up sharing the same music taste. Every Saturday afternoon, you could hear us singing, no, screaming things like "MY LOVE FOR YOU WAS BULLETPROOF BUT YOU'RE THE ONE WHO SHOT ME!-"

and so on. I felt like I was slowly turning her into a really crazed up emo, but hey, with friends comes influence. She also recommended me a lot of good books, which basically ruined my non-existent social life. But, whatcha gonna do 'bout it?
