Ajax awoke under a strange black sky he'd only heard about in tales, flecks of white strewn across its expanse void. He felt too tired to stand, to move, to speak. The sounds of crickets and other mobs filled the air. The air was fresh and cool and clear and the ground was soft, almost plush, but also a little prickly. The moon was covered by some clouds, but it looked full. It was gorgeous.
He sat there for quite some time, simply breathing in the nighttime scents. His energy slowly regenerated, and he just noticed that his skin emitted a soft lavender glow, one that he'd never noticed while he was in the Nether. It was nice. Ajax pulled his body up, and scratched the back of his neck. He felt a little weak. The effects of the apple really helped null the effects of interdimensional teleportation down from what he could tell, though. He slowly stood up, leaning against a tree for support. Small cold flecks fell from the sky, stinging his face, and fog covered his horizontal view. However, in the midst of the fog, there was a faint yellow glow akin to the lava in the Nether he'd just left. *There's lava in the Overworld?* He stumbled over, too tired to teleport and see for himself. He held onto the trees for dear life, feeling like he would fall over if he didn't. When the trees receded, he stood atop a hill, blanketed in white, and stared. This wasn't lava, but rather small buildings, grouped together in some sort of community by itself. Plants inside of wooden confines grew, hydrated by ice. A strange mob stood hovered over the plants, holding a blazing stick of some sort above the ice. Maybe they were friendly? They didn't appear threatening. The large, living statues that walked amongst them did, however. His feet started to feel cold and stung. *Ow...* The buildings looked warm, and there was fire to prove it... Maybe he could just go over there? Besides, what could those statues do anyways? It's not like they can actually hurt him!
Ajax proceeded towards the village, scooting on his bum while using his arms as support. The white melted into water and stung when he sat on it, and it took all of his willpower not to wail out in pain. When he finally touched flat ground, he sprinted for the warmth of the village, but a statue stood in his way. It wasn't much taller than him, but the look on its face made Ajax wish he'd never come here. He couldn't even teleport. "I'm not a threat! Please don't kill me!" the enderman pleaded loudly.
The statue creature stared into the enderman's eyes. Its face bore some unreadable emotion. Sympathy? Ajax hoped so. At least it wasn't being hostile...
Suddenly, the creature pulled a poppy from a vine satchel. It handed the poppy to the enderman. Ajax looked down at its hand, then back at its face. He cautiously reached over for the poppy, taking it in his own elongated hands. The statue gestured towards its mouth. Did it want Ajax to eat the flower?
"Are you sure..?" Ajax inquired. When the statue nodded, Ajax took a bite off the petal. It tasted alright... He took another bite, closer to the center of the flower. He chewed on the seeds, getting a slightly nutty taste from them. His tired eyes lit up, and he scarfed down the whole flower. This earned a slight silent chuckle from the statue. It began to urge the enderman into the village, and guided him into an empty house. It nudged the enderman inside, and then crab-walked in itself.
In the house, there was a small bookshelf, a table, and a bed. Because of this, it was a little cramped, but it fit for two. The statue trudged in, and selected a book from the shelf. The title had a drawing of an enderman on the cover, and the title of the book was written quickly in dark black, *The Sign of the Ender Pearls*. The statue examined the cover. It was so well done... The enderman on the cover had a small hat of some kind on its head, and there was purple flames coming from its hands. It appeared to be fighting a pack of small winged creatures, some blue-faced mobs with bows, and and zombies. Behind the enderman was a pair of scared, small mobs akin to the one seen warming the ice earlier on. Ajax ran his fingers over the cover. It all looked so real.
