Chapter 3

Tsunahime

I sat on my bed, fiddling with an orange pacifier, which had been covered by Mammon chains, as I fed it my flames. It was one of those times of the year I would go to a hospital due to my weak immune system. I know that I'm slowly dying and I accept that fact. I just wished there was another heir for Vongola, someone capable of making it become a Vigilante group once more. I don't want it to completely die, I wish for it to be reborn like a phoenix. I hope that mother won't be too sad about my upcoming death. Checkerface did say he would try to find a way for me to live longer, but I doubt he will find one.

I hid the pacifier under my pillow and stood up. A wave of nausea hit me and the room seemed like it was spinning. I felt something rising up my throat, making me gag and bend over. Soon I started puking something red out of my system. And after five or maybe even ten minutes of this, I couldn't keep myself up any longer. I toppled over and the world turned black as a feint ringing echoed in my ears.

I walked through the Sawada house to inform Tsunahime of her now being the Decima candidate. But, when I opened the door to Tsunahime's room... I found her laying in a small puddle of blood. She was unconscious and a trail of blood came out of her mouth. I immediately called maman, told her call 119 and to ask for Shamal. I wasn't too sure what had caused what happened to Tsunahime, but I was going to find out no matter what!

When we arrived at the hospital, Maman immediately rounded on Shamal. "Shamal-san, do you know what caused my daughter to puke blood?" Maman asked. "Well there are a variety of things that could cause it. Like when you get morning sickness while pregnant. But I suspect either Pancreatic cancer although it is uncommon with people under 60 or stomach cancer which is rare with people under 55. Tuberculosis is also a possibility," Shamal stated. "Although it is possible she has been cursed by someone wanting to harm Vongola," he added. "Could you do tests on cancer while she rests?" Maman asked. "Of course Sawada-san," Shamal nodded.

After maman and I arrived to Shamal's clinic we went to Tsunahime's room. Then Shamal came in with the test results. "I have some good news and bad news," he said. "The bad news is that Tsunahime has a cancerous tumour near her stomach, the good news however is that the tumour is still in it's early stages meaning that it can still be removed before it gets to the next stage and kills Tsunahime," he stated. "M-my baby has cancer? How?" Maman stuttered.

"The odd part is that Tsunahime doesn't have a gene mutation that would cause it. It seems like something caused Tsunahime to get cancer, probably the same thing that's feeding off of her sky flames," Shamal stated.  "How much for the treatment? Please.. I don't want her to die!" Maman exclaimed. "The Vongola will pay for the treatment, maman. After all, Tsunahime is the Decima," I said. "We need to inform Nono and Xanxus," Maman sighed. "I'll do it," I replied and walked off.

I'm sad to say that Tsunahime has stomach cancer and something is feeding off of her flames.. Please inform Xanxus of his adoptive cousin's condition. Are you fine with Vongola paying for her treatment? There also is a possibility that someone cursed Tsunahime to destroy Vongola. I think you should see if there is a traitor among the famiglia.

I was shocked upon reading the news about my successor. How could this happen to her? I wanted to cry because Tsunahime was only fifteen years old and was already suffering from cancer. The worst part about this is that I have to inform Xanxus. He was practically Tsunahime's cousin! I just hope Tsunahime will survive..

I sat on my throne like chair, sipping my wine as I did paperwork. Suddenly my adoptive bastard of a father came into the room. "Xanxus.. I have some bad news for you," he said. "What trash?" I asked. "The Decima, your 15 year-old adoptive cousin Tsunahime was diagnosed with stomach cancer and something has been eating her flames," Father said and started crying. I was shocked. My cousin who I had no prior knowledge about has cancer and she's the Decimo candidate? Why the fuck does this happen to my family? To a 15 year-old girl nonetheless? "C-can it still be cured?" I choked out. "Yes.. But it's cancer so she only has a slim chance at survival, Xanxus," Father sobbed. Fan fucking tastic. My cousin might not even survive. Great. Fuck you god, fuck you! I didn't even get to meet her!
