Baekhyun stood in front of the grand piano, The pianist, as per requested by the Queen, guided him and went to the side.

Silence filled the halls as expectant eyes await the petite male to make his move.

Nervous, He sat down and placed his slender fingers on the keys.
He closed his eyes and let out a heavy breath.

'Okay Baekhyun, You got this' He told himself.

He played a special piece. A piece from his childhood, a song he knows like the back of his hand.

It's starts off slow, sadness can be felt in the first few notes, He suddenly remembered his mother's laugh,
He remembers her strict voice whenever He got notes wrong.

He remembered all those nightmares, those sleepless nights, Those self doubts. But somehow all of those'll vanish with just a her hug.

He remembered her looking through the window on a rainy day.

He remembered how strong she was, How composed and independent she was.

He admired that.

He remembered how she taught him that no matter what happens always be strong.

To always fight for what is right.

To Always be courageous.

Playing the verse through chorus, Instead of keys, I felt like I was playing the strings in my heart.
releasing all the emotions I've been keeping inside all these years.

The melody shifts.

'Love' I thought.

nearing the climax. this was the song I used to play for my mother, it represents my love for her, how after everything that happened. It made me strong.

On some nights I still wait for her, but I know she's never coming back.

then it shifts back to a slow agonizing tempo.

I remembered hugging her while she took her last breath.
I remember her last words.

"No matter what happens, let the river flow in you"

I finished the song. Tears flowing freely from eyes.

I finally understand.

"Let the river flow in you" Let your emotions through.

All this time I thought that she meant to just keep moving, Follow to where the river of life will take you.

When it was to free my emotions all along. Free myself from all the guilt and doubt, That it's okay to break down and cry.

The next thing I knew I heard a thunderous applause. I looked at the crowd, Tears also visible in their eyes. The song must've been so powerful.

I stood up, removing the tears in my eyes and smiled. I bowed and excused myself and left the room.
