Ashleigh soon made her way back inside the bunker after giving herself a chance to calm down and just breathe. She'd tell them the truth soon, when the time was right. She knew the longer she waited.. Well, as mad as Dean was now -- this was nothing compared to what it would be if she waited too long or he found out on his own. She just needed to wait for the right opportunity to sit down and talk with them, the both of them.

The Kimbrell girl was met by the sight of the two brothers during at the library, reading up on news articles in search for a case. The tension in the room hit her like a ton of bricks but instead of shying away, she sucked in a sharp breath and made her way forward, placing her hands against the table as she peered at their laptops curiously.

"Find anything?"

Sam lifted his head, glancing quickly at his brother before he cleared his throat. "A teenage boy who supposedly killed his family, he's still missing..."

"Long story short, we're thinking shifter." Dean finished, closing up his laptop as he stood up from the table "Go ahead and pack your bags full, we're heading out." He stated before disappearing down the hallway.

Ashleigh watched him leave, pressing her lips together before Sam stood up as well, patting her against the back "Give him time. I think we could so use this case to get back into the swing of things." He said with a faint smile before heading off to pack his duffel bag.

A small sigh escaped her lips as she stood up straight. This would be her first hunt in a year, and with how distant Dean was acting, she couldn't help but feel a bit nervous.

Quickly, she shook her head clear and relaxed her shoulders before heading down the hall to her room. Sam was right, this case was a blessing in disguise for all of them. Or at least.. that's what they thought.

"Agent Clips and these are my partners, Agents Dawson and Greene." Dean spoke, flashing his fake badge to the town's sheriff, Sam and Ashleigh repeating the action.

"We just have a few questions about the Rork murders. The teenage son is suspected, correct?" Ashleigh asked before either of the boys had a chance.

The sheriff nodded his head slightly "Yeah.. strange too. Mason was always a good kid. Straight 'A' student, really active in the community.. No one would have guessed he'd be capable of something like this."

Sam cleared his throat, tucking his hands into the pockets of his blazer "Do you have any surveillance footage of Mason, by any chance?"

The sheriff motioned the three to follow him to his desk "Yeah, a neighbor's security system caught him leaving the scene of the crime." He said, opening up the file on his computer as the three hunters gathered around.

The footage showed a guy in his mid-teens hurrying out of his house and looking around to check if anyone was watching. His eyes then locked on the camera, the camera catching the glint in his eyes perfectly.

Ashleigh stood straight, glancing between the brothers, the three sharing a look. Shifter.

Dean nodded his head a bit, grabbing a fake business card from his jacket pocket and handing it over to the sheriff "Thank you for your time. Make sure to call us if you think of anything else that could possibly be useful." He stated gently as the three said their goodbyes to the sheriff and made their leave, heading out to the Impala.

"So a shifter huh? But what kind of shifter would willingly change into a teenage boy?" Ashleigh asked, shaking her head a bit as she climbed into the back.

Sam sat down in the passenger seat, coding the door behind him "Could be that Mason knew the shifter and he was jealous..."

Dean plopped down onto the driver's seat, starting up the engine before heading down the road to the scene of the crime "Either way, we need to find Mason. I'm sure once we find him, we'll find the monster responsible."

Monster. That word filled Ashleigh with a strange feeling in her chest, especially the harsh tone Dean had said it. She placed her hand lightly against her chest, biting down on her bottom lip before she spoke quietly "Yeah, you're right... We find Mason, we find our killer."

Dean glanced at her in the rear view mirror, lifting an eyebrow at her sudden change in tone. Now wasn't the time however.

The Impala rolled to a stop in front of the Rork household, the three hunters coming out and fishing their badges to get through the scene.

"I say we split up and search the house for anything that might tell us where Mason was taken." Dean suggested but before either Ashleigh or his brother could argue, he headed off.

Sam sighed, turning his attention to the Kimbrell girl. "I'll check upstairs, you take a look outside. Yell if you see anything." He said gently before ascended up the stairs.

Ashleigh glanced in the directions the two brothers had headed off in before she tucked a strand of hair out of her face and made her way outside, taking in a deep breath of fresh air as she stepped into the back yard.
