Linda couldn't believe it. How could he just up and sign up for the next war? He may not have remembered what he was like when he came back from Iraq, but she remembered. He had almost killed her- accidentally, of course.
"Linda," Danny jiggled the doorknob. "Linda, the door's jammed."
"It's not jammed, it's locked, you idiot."
"Come on, Linda. Let me in."
"Why? So you can lie to me some more?"
"I didn't lie, Linda. I just.... didn't tell you."
She scoffed and shook her head, "I can't deal with you right now."
Danny bit back the curse he wanted to say. Going into the guest bathroom, he grabbed Linda's extra bobby-pins. Taking one out of the bag, he sauntered back to the bedroom door.
Linda heard some noises on the other side of the wooden door. "I told you I didn't wanna talk."
"I don't care. We're talking," Danny entered the room.
"Wha-? How'd you get in here?"
"I know how to pick locks, Linda. If I can hot wire a car, I can certainly pick a lock with a bobby-pin." He showed her the pin.
"You can hot wire a car?" She asked, wide-eyed.
"Yes, but that's besides the point. Linda, why did you freak out—"
"Why did I freak out? For being smart, you sure are dumb." Linda rolled her eyes, "Danny, two weeks ago, Terrorists bombed the US! And now you want to go to a Terrorists country to fight when you have a wife and a baby boy! Gee, I can't imagine why I'd freak out!!"
"Okay, good point—"
"I know why you wanna go, I do. I just..." Linda sighed and bit her lip, "I want you to stay here."
"I know." Danny pushed a piece of hair away from her face and wiped a tear that slipped from her eye. He kissed her cheek and put a hand on her shoulder, "I know."
"But...." she nodded, sniffling. "I'm gonna get.... at peace.... with.... myself. And you can help me." She patted his thigh.
"Oh yeah? How?"
"By showing me how much you love me till the moment you have to leave."
Danny nodded, "I can do that..... when do you want me to start?"
"Now works."
He smirked and kissed his wife lovingly.

Linda was sitting in the kitchen, feeding her baby while looking at a magazine. She walked over to the counter when the phone rang. "Reagans, Linda speaking...."
While she talked on the phone, Danny came up from behind her and hugged her. He started kissing her neck, fulfilling his promise.
"No...no, nothing's wrong!" Linda was trying to hide her giggles. "Listen, I gotta call you back.... 'Kay, bye." She hung up and turned around in Danny's arms. Putting her arms around his neck, she kissed his lips. "I'm gonna miss this." She told him quietly, her head down.
"Me, too." He pushed her hair behind her ear. Hugging her tightly, he sighed, "we still have two more weeks."
"Two thousand more weeks wouldn't be enough." She whispered, her tears silently falling.
Danny frowned and brushed her tears away with his thumbs. He pulled her in for another kiss, being cut short by their screaming baby. He turned around, "What's the matter, buddy?" He walked over to Jack and picked him up. "Huh?"
Linda crossed her arms and sighed. She was going to miss this: her hard ass husband being completely loving towards herself and little Jack. She would just miss everything. She turned away and retreated to the back porch, needing some space to cry alone.
