"I doubt staying in Brighton will help us any, let's get out of here before things get worse." I advised as Felix adjuster the position of the duffel slung over his shoulder, the Swede nodding as he followed me down the eerily quiet street.

"Wait." Felix hissed sharply, dragging me off of the street before pressing his back against the side of the house next to us.

I followed suite with bated breath as a patrol of policemen marched past us with flashlights, their beams of light short of where Felix and I were hiding by mere inches.

Neither of us dared to move until we heard their footsteps fade away, Felix tentatively poking his head out before motioning that the coast was clear.

We walked on in silence for fear of running into more police, Felix lost in thought while I worried about the possibilities the future held.

"Felix, it's not safe to be out right now. I don't know what happened, but there's a lot more police patrols than usual going around tonight. Besides, you're human, so you need rest." I finally spoke up, Felix pausing mid-step as he snapped out of his thoughts to look at me.

"But where would we go?" Felix countered with a frown, my gaze landing on something as I scanned the area.

"There's an abandoned car junkyard, we can go there." I suggested, Felix shrugging as he followed me.

"The place looks like shit." Felix remarked as we drew closer to the junkyard, the Swede wrinkling his nose in disdain as we stopped at the gate.

"Just go in." I urged, Felix rolling his eyes before swinging the rusty gate open with a squeak and stepping inside.

I followed him inside just as a pale android with lavender hair scampered into view, his pale blue eyes brightening when his gaze landed on us.

The android charged towards us on all fours with a toothy grin, a horizontal cut visible across his neck.

"Jävla helvete!" Felix screeched as he frantically backed up into me, causing me to fall on my back with him on top of me while the android simply watched in confusion.

"Robbie sorry, Robbie no try be scary." The lavender haired android apologized sheepishly, backing away as Felix hastily scrambled off of me before offering me a hand up with a slight smirk.

I smiled back at him as I accepted the help, allowing the Swede to pull me up to my feet before we turned to look at Robbie.

"New friends need home? Robbie share home!" Robbie offered excitedly, taking Felix's arm and dragging him off before either him or I could protest.

"Robbie look for more friends, Robbie back soon! Za for human by bed." Robbie blurted before dashing off, leaving Felix and I alone in an empty truck trailer with only a pile of newspapers and a plate of old looking pizza inside.

"So..." Felix trailed off as he sat down on the "bed", patting an empty spot next to him where I could sit, the Swede picking up a piece of pizza and taking an experimental bite out of it before shrugging and continuing to eat.

"I know." I sighed as I sat down next to him, feeling like I would never live a normal life again.

A ghost of a smile graced Felix's lips as his hand brushed against mine, my synthetic skin falling away momentarily to reveal the white plastic-like material underneath.

"Robbie back!"

I jumped in surprise as Robbie came running back with a brown haired android following, Felix and I standing up.

"Robbie, who's this?" Felix interjected as he eyed the newcomer warily while I examined him curiously.

"Robbie find new friend, this Jack!" Robbie explained happily, ushering the android inside as Felix continued eating his piece of pizza.

"My name's Marzia, this is my...friend, Felix." I introduced with a polite smile, Felix ignoring Jack as he ate.

"Why are you two here?" Jack asked, causing me to glance over at Felix before returning my attention to the Irish android.

"We're trying to get to LA so we can be free." I answered, Felix nodding in agreement as he finished his food.

"Really? Me too!" Jack exclaimed with a grin, my expression brightening while Robbie glanced between the two of us with a confused look.

"Great, we can travel together to-"

"You, Jack, and I can go together, but taking Robbie with us will be too risky since there'll be too many people in our group." Felix interrupted.

"Robbie...stay?" Robbie interjected quietly, his lower lip trembling as Jack shot Felix a glare to silence him.

"He should come with us, he just wants to go home." Jack argued, Felix shaking his head while I bit my lip.

"He'll get himself caught or worse if we comes with us, and we'll be more noticeable in a bigger group." Felix argued defensively.

"Go."

All attention turned to Robbie as he growled softly under his breath, his fingers curled into fists at his side with his gaze fixated on the floor.

"Robbie..." Jack trailed off as the android's body shook slightly, his rage filled eyes boring into Jack's.

"Jack lied to Robbie, Jack say he get Robbie home to friends at camp!" Robbie snarled fiercely, causing him to flinch in response.

Jack let out a sigh as he rubbed his face in his hands, silence filling the air until he finally broke it with his answer.

"I'm taking Robbie with me, I can't leave him behind. I owe it to Jack to make sure he gets home safe."

I opened my mouth to ask what he meant about owing it to Jack before I decided against it, settling with a simple nod before he and Robbie left the trailer.

"Wait!" I called out after them, Jack pausing to look back at me with a confused frown as I jogged up to him.

I opened my mouth to ask him a question before I hesitated, wondering if I should ask him something or not.
