Chapter 9: Stomach Bug (Part 9)

Denise: " Hey sweetie, how are you feeling? " She asked her son.

Nick: " Like Shit still. " He says to his mom. "

Nick: " What happened to me? " He asked the nurse.

Olivia: " You passed out back on your tour bus and Malcolm brought you to the hospital, you were unconscious for more than 15-20 minutes and your breathing was a bit shallow so we took you to the emergency room and had to put an oxygen mask on you. " she explains everything to Nick.

Nick: " Oh my goodness. " He says to the nurse feeling shocked and then looking at the needle that was in his arm and the IV Drip putting fluids in his body.

Olivia: " I need to check your blood sugars to see where they are. " she says to Nick before getting up to get something.

Nick: " Okay. " He says to the nurse with no hesitation because he was used to it. "

While Nick was waiting for the nurse to get back a familiar face comes into his room.

Luke: " Hey Nick. " He says to him while he was standing in the doorway.

Nick: " Hey, what's going on Luke? " He says to him.

Luke: " I was in the area and I wanted to see you. " He says to Nick.

Nick: " Really? " He says to Luke.

Luke: " Yes, my wife Sierra just went into Labor. " He says to Nick.

Joe: " How long ago was that? " He says to Luke.

Luke: " About 15 minutes ago. " He says to Joe.

Nick: " Shouldn't you be with her? " He says to Luke.

Luke: " Yeah, by the way, who are these lovely people? " He asked Nick.

Nick: " Oh yeah, my mistake; mom, dad I would like to introduce you to my friend Luke Hemmings. " He says to his parents.

Denise: " Hello, my name is Denise, I'm Nick, Joe, Kevin, and Frankie's mom. " she says to Luke Hemmings shaking his hand.

Luke: " Nice to meet you, Mrs. Jonas. " He says to Nick's mom.

Denise: " Please call me Denise, this is my husband Paul, my daughter Danielle, My youngest son Frankie and My granddaughters Alena and Valentina. " she says introducing everyone.

Luke: " Nice to meet you all. " He says shaking everyone's hand separately.

Nick: " This is my whole family. " He says to Luke before groaning.

Luke: " You okay man? " He asked Nick feeling concerned.

Nick: " To be honest, I am not okay, my stomach is bothering me. " He says to Luke.

Luke: " Are you sick? " He asked Nick.

Nick: " Yes, I have a Stomach Bug. " He says to Luke before rubbing his stomach.

Luke: " That sucks, Calum, Ashton, and Michael have the stomach bug right now. " He says to Nick.

Nick: " Your kidding? " He says to Luke in shock.

Luke: " Nope, I should probably go back to the delivery room so I can be there by my wife's side while she gives birth to our Baby girl. " He says getting up from the chair.

Nick: " Sounds good. " He says to Luke.

Luke: " It was nice to see you and finally meet your family. " He says to Nick, Joe, and Kevin.

Kevin: " You too man, congratulations. " He says to Luke.

Denise: " It was nice to finally meet you. " she says to Luke speaking for everyone.

Luke: " Same with you and the family. " He says to Denise.

Denise: " Congratulations and remember to protect your daughter with all of your heart." She says to Luke pulling him into a hug.

Luke: " Thanks for the advice. " He says to Denise hugging her back.

Denise: " Your welcome Luke. " she says to Luke breaking the hug.

Luke: " Feel better soon Nick. " He says to Nick.

Nick: " Thanks, tell Ashton, Michael, and Calum that I said hi and that I said to feel better soon. " He says to Luke.

Luke: " I will." He says to Nick hugging him gently so he doesn't hurt his stomach.

Nick: " Congratulations again. " He says to Luke and then breaks the hug.

Luke: " Thanks. " He says to Nick walking out.

Nick: " Bye. "He says to Luke.

Luke: " Bye. " He says to Nick and makes his way back to the delivery room where his wife Sierra was.

Olivia: " I am back. " she says walking into the room with a meter.

Nick: " Okay. " He says sitting up in his hospital bed.

Olivia: " Let me see a finger. " she says to Nick.

Nick: " Okay. " He says holding a finger out.

Olivia: " There is going to be a little poke. " she says to Nick.

Nick: " Okay. " He says to Olivia not feeling uncomfortable because he was used to getting his finger poked.

Olivia: " Your blood sugar level is at 40 which is extremely low. " she says feeling super concerned.

Nick: " Shit. " he says feeling extremely concerned.

Olivia: " Have you eaten anything? " she asks Nick.

Nick: " No because I have been throwing up all day and I don't have much of an appetite. " he says feeling sleepy.

Olivia: " You need to eat. " she says writing the number down on his chart.

Nick: " I know but I hate throwing my food back up every time I eat. " he says to the nurse.

Olivia: " I get it but you still have to eat, so your blood sugars don't get this low, we have to get your blood sugar elevated. " she said to Nick.

Denise: " So he has to stay here until you get his blood sugars elevated. " she says to the nurse.

Olivia: " Yes, I'm afraid so. " she says to Denise.

Paul: " When his blood sugars are elevated can he leave? " he asks the nurse.

Olivia: " Yes, once we get his blood sugars elevated, we will discharge him. " she says to Paul.

Paul: " Okay. " he replies.

Joe: " I gotta go. " he said looking at the time on his watch *

Kevin: "We'll see you soon Joe."

Joe: " Okay, I love you guys. "

Nick: " Hey, Joe. "

Joe: " Yea. "

Nick: " I may not be there in person but I'll be there in the spirit. "

Joe: " Okay. "

Nick: " Knock em' dead. "

Joe: " You got it. " knuckle bumps Nick's knuckle "

Olivia: " Nick. "

Nick: " Yes."

Olivia: " There is someone else here to see you. "

Nick: " Okay, let them in. "

Priyanka: " Hey, sweetie. "

Nick: " Hey, babe. "

Priyanka: " How are you feeling? "

Nick: " I still feel pretty lousy."

Priyanka: " How are your blood sugars? "

Nick: " Well, they a dangerously low the nurse checked them and they are at 40 and I haven't eaten because I have been throwing up all day. "

Priyanka: " Nick! "

Nick: " What? "

Priyanka: " You know you need to eat or your blood sugars will drop."

Nick: " I know but I have a bug sweetie."
