Usually, my chapters don't have names, but because of some reason, my supernatural fics do... And I mostly use movie titles, lyrics or quotes from my fav. books and movies... so, tell me if you know what it's from!
Lucifer had left his body, but somehow that was even worse than before. Now, anticipation made his lungs constrict and his heart race. It was making him jumpy and his breathing laboured, as he stood in the middle of the Cage, Michael slumped in one corner and Lucifer nowhere to be seen. He could hear the feather light steps and whispered words of the Devil and it made his skin itch. Ever touch was like ice that ghosted over his clammy skin and he shivered, shying away from the unwanted contact. It made his skin crawl and he suppressed a violent shudder.
"Sammy, Sammy," he heard Lucifer whisper, not louder than a child's whispered words, but as cold and sharp as a blade made of ice. "We could have done great things together, you and me." There was a sigh and Sam shivered as cold breath touched his skin, leaving patterns of ice on his skin. "You said you wanted me to be happy, but if I'm hurt..." Sam mumbled, subconsciously rubbing his neck, where Lucifer's breath had touched skin.
The laugh that followed made him tense up so much, he feared his spine would snap. "But, Sammy, I wanted you to be happy, because I was happy, but now I'm not happy, so neither will you be."
He swore he could hear Lucifer pout. "And I hate to be sad," whispered the devil right in his ear and Sam jumped, spinning around, only to come face to face with Lucifer.
He stumbled back with a sharp intake of breath. "Stay away from me!"
"Stay away from me," the archangel mimicked and stepped closer, watching as Sam retreated, taking a step back for every one Lucifer took forward, until his back hit the Cage's wall and the man's eyes flickered around the prison, looking for an escape route. A small smile settled on Lucifer's face as he extended his hand and caressed Sam's cheek, cocking his head to the side slightly. "I once promised that I would never hurt you, remember?" He breathed, watching as Sam's eyes flickered between Lucifer's hand, still cupping his cheek, and the devil's face. "I lied."
And then Lucifer's hand closed around his vessels throat, squeezing teasingly, but not completely cutting off his air supply.Sam watched him wide-eyed, fear and anger clearly battling for dominance in his hazel eyes. Lucifer's smirk faltered as Sam closed his eyes, concentrating only on breathing. His grip on the Hunter's throat tightened slightly, but Sam still held his eyes closed. Lucifer suppressed a growl from the back of his throat. He wanted to see the different emotions fight in Sam's eyes, wanted to see what would win in the end. He wanted to look into his hazel orbs and see the life slowly draining out of him as he crushed his windpipe with his bare hands.
A small dagger, silver blade and dark handle, wrapped in leather, materialized in his hand and nicked Sam's eyelids carefully. "Eyes open, Sammy. I want to see you."
Sam slowly blinked, glaring at his tormentor and growled, "You're a fucking psychopath."
"High-functioning sociopath..." corrected Lucifer with an inhuman grin, "With a dagger."Sam averted his eyes and sighed in defeat. "What's with the foreplay," he asked resigned. Lucifer's smile widened and he trailed the sharp blade along Sam's cheek bone. "Don't say you don't like it."
"I don't like it," spat Sam and the hand around his throat tightened in response. "Wanna try this again?" The sadistic glee in the devil's voice was unmistakable and Sam sneered in disgust. He wouldn't do Lucifer's bidding.
Waiting for an answer, Lucifer's eyebrows rose and he pushed forward, applying pressure on Sam's Adam's apple.
The hunters gasped, his hands coming up to claw at Lucifer's wrist, but the fallen angel just grinned cruelly and raised Sam off the ground, pushing the man's back against the wall, until he could only stand on his toes.Sam wheezed for air, his breath rattling in his throat. His pupils were dilated and panic rose in his chest. He tried kicking out with his legs, but lost his balance and his weight was hold only by Lucifer's hand around his neck, squeezing without mercy. There was a burning pressure building up in his lungs and his chest constricted, his mouth opening and closing in a futile attempt to breath in air. The pressure turned into a burning sensation as the world around him started to blur and tilt to the side, only a face, he couldn't remember who it belonged to, was clear as day and twisted into a grotesque grimace.
He wanted to yell out, but only a gurgling sound came out, spit running down the corner of his mouth. His eyelids dropped as black invaded his vision and the pain intensified, his desperate clawing at the hand around his throat weakening. His legs twitched faintly as his arms dropped and his head lolled to the side, mouth slightly apart, as the burning got so bad, Am felt as if his lungs would combat and he was inwardly screaming. The fire in his lungs was subsiding and then there was blissful nothingness. No pain, no Sam, no Lucifer, no life.
Until he was dropped to the ground and air invaded his lungs again and Sam desperately took deep gulps of the precious air, tears brimming in his eyes. His throat hurt like it was on fire, the stabbing pain coaxing the tears to flow. His fingers gently caressed the forming bruises around his neck and he slumped against the Cage wall, still breathing heavily, head tucked in behind his legs, hiding from the looming form in front of him, watching with cool disinterest. Sam swallowed and his throat flared up in pain immediately, burning like it was being skinned by a butter knife. It hurt. Sam just wanted it to stop and he desperately blinked away the tears that were still flowing freely, pain and defiance clashing against each other.
When he heard someone clear their throat, his head shot up and his hand promptly went to cover his throat. If Lucifer decided to choke him again, Sam wouldn't be able to stop him, but protecting his still raw throat was instinct and pressing himself further into the wall, too.
Sam hadn't given up, far from it, but his body was only thinking logically, registering the pain in his throat and the threat of the devil in front of him and went into panic mode. It doesn't mean Sam had submitted to Lucifer, but at the moment, self-preservation was his priority.
"Sammy, I was only asking for one little sentece. So, wanna try this again?"
Sam swallowed down the lump in his throat, ignoring the glaring pain and whispered, voice raw, quiet and raspy, "I like the foreplay."
His voice sounded foreign to his own ears and he couldn't meet Lucifer's cold eyes.Sam flinched back when he felt a hand on his shoulder. "That wasn't too hard, now was it?"
Sam didn't reply, his eyes glaring at the ground. He hadn't give up and it would take more than choking to break him.
His hazel orbs flickered to the devil's face and he knew that Lucifer had a lot in store for him, would do a lot to break him.
But Sam Winchester won't break.
