CHAOS - Park Seonghwa

Chapter 6

She sat in the living room when Mrs. Park brought out two glasses of cold drink and sat beside her. She was about to protest when suddenly Mrs. Park's phone rang and she picked it up while shooting her an apologetic smile.

The smile she had on though vanished when she heard whatever was said to her on the other side. She ended the call and spoke in a bit of a hurry to Soojung, "Soojung can you please make sure Seonghwa eats dinner? He hasn't eaten much since yesterday and I have to rush to the hospital, there's an emergency case there."

"Oh. Yeah Mrs. Park, don't worry I'll make sure he eats something. You go." And smiled at her. She knew his mother was a doctor. Mrs. Park rushed and came back in the living room after 20 minutes and directed her where the food was in the kitchen and where was his room and left after apologizing to which she assured it wasn't a problem. After she had left, Soojung went to the kitchen and placed some for him to eat in a plate and went towards his room. She took a deep breath before knocking on the door.

After knocking twice she heard the door opening and him saying, "Mom I told you I'm not hungry-"and suddenly shut up when he saw her. All the annoyance on his face was replaced with surprise.

"S-Soojung?"

She felt his stutter cute and smiled at him, still albeit nervous. "Hi. I was worried about you so I came over with the notes for the classes you missed but your mum had to suddenly leave for an emergency and she asked me to make sure you eat something." She spoke in a single breath.

He nodded slowly. "All notes?"

"Yeah. I asked someone from your class to give me their notes as well!" she showed him the folder in her hand excitedly which he took and looked at. "Uhh thanks."

"So..Dinner?" she showed him the plate full of food.

"I'm not hungry"

"And I don't care" she replied stubbornly. "I promised your mum I'll make sure you eat, so you got to."

He sighed but couldn't help but let a small smile escape. "Fine. But bring a plate for you as well. Let's have dinner together." He couldn't realize why he felt nervous while saying it but the way she looked up at him in surprise, he felt even more nervous.

"Uhh.. Okay. Lemme just- a bring one more plate" and she pushed the plate towards him and rushed off to the kitchen. He smiled at her back and walked into his room.

She reached the kitchen and stood leaning against the counter, hoping her heart would calm down. It wasn't even anything special but how smoothly he asked her to dine with him took her breath away. She had been dying for this moment to come and had all sorts of wrong intentions but now that it presented itself in front of her, she was blank as to how to proceed. He looked genuinely surprised and she knows more than anything he's super upset about the whole situation and probably didn't wanted to see her out of all the people. But he didn't react negatively so it was a plus point.

The problem here was what to do. She took out her phone and called San and ended the call as soon as she had dialed it. He wasn't the right person to call. She scrolled through the contacts in her phone again and called Hongjoong who picked up on the third ring.

"Hello?"

"Hey Hongjoong. Soojung here."

"Yeah I know. What's up? Weren't you supposed to be at Seonghwa's?"

"Well.." she took a breather. "I am here."

There was a silence. "So why are you calling me?"

"See.. Technically I'm in his kitchen to take my food upstairs to eat with him. Problem is I have no idea what to do."

"Umm..Eat it?"

She facepalmed. He wasn't getting her!

"I mean he's upset about his girlfriend cheating on him! What to do about it?"

"Uhh comfort him Soojung-ah. What do you usually do if some friend of yours gets cheated on? Or someone you know?"

"Hongjoong, 1- I don't have any friends! 2- If a guy gets dumped, I sleep with him! So help me! I don't know what to do!"

Hongjoong snickered at that. "Just be yourself Soojung-ah. I'm pretty sure it'll be the best for him." And afterwards he ended the call.

She just stared at the phone and cursed him and then heard her name being called by Seonghwa and after yelling a 'coming' back at him, served her plate and walked towards his room.
