Matthew Casey; You Are Alive

Y/n's POV
"MATTHEW! PLEASE STOP!" you yelled now panic stricken. "Matthew!" you sobbed as you looked around. You worked for Chicago fire and five buildings were set on fire after an explosion and Matthew went in but he hasn't came out yet "Jay have you seen Matthew?" you asked gripping his arm "no I'm afraid I haven't... Why do you ask?" you looked at him with wide eyes "weren't you with him?!!" Jay shook his head "I thought he was with you" you gripped your hair and breathed deeply "someone's gotta find him!!!" Jay looked at you concerned "y/n don't do what I'm thinking you're gonna do" your breathing esculated and you looked to Jay then to the building then to Matthews crew. You had to get him!

You ran tawards the burning building ignoring your name being called by Jay and many other people. "MATTHEW!" you screamed as you began climbing the stairs but there was no answer. You ran faster and faster until you reached the top. You were just meant to be assessing the patients but now this was a whole different matter. You looked around the room, covering your nose and mouth trying to avoid getting smoke into your lungs "Casey?!" you yelled as you began to lose hope. Suddenly you heard a muffled yell "Matthew?!!!" you rushed tawards the door and tried to open it but if was locked "Matthew are you in there?" suddenly someone began coughing "y/n it's Kelly... Matthew is passed out" your eyes widened "WHAT?!!" Kelly coughed again "y/n get out of here... I'm gonna help your boyfriend" you shook your head even though he couldn't see you "no Kelly! I'm not leaving you or him! I don't want any of you guys to die! I can open this door easily!" you said coughing slightly "ok... Do it" you nodded and began twisting the handle. You knocked on the door a few times "Kelly if you or anyone else is standing in front of the door then please step away" you warned "clear!" you took that as a 'good to go' sign and you ran at the door. You kicked it and watched as the small hole made by your foot leaked smoke "Kelly. How is he?" you asked. "h-he's stable" Kelly stuttered as he coughed more. "Kelly are you ok?" Kelly bent down and looked at you through the hole "y/n... Get Matthew out... Forget about me... OK" you stuttered and shook your head. He gripped your hand "please y/n... I know you can pull through... Cmon love" you sighed "ok Kelly... You're brave. Thank you" he nodded and smiled. You watched as he passed out and you began freaking out. You kicked at the door until it came off of its hinges. "Matthew! Aw god damn it!" you placed the breathing mask over Matthews nose and mouth before checking his pulse. You moved over to Kelly and placed another mask over his nose and mouth before checking his pulse "Kelly?!!" you felt no pulse. Panic pulsed through you and you began crying. You started compressions "cmon... Cmon!" suddenly he gasped and his eyes shot open "Kelly... Are you ok?" Kelly nodded and you gripped his hand "Kelly you need to climb out of the window... He's waiting for you" you said nodding tawards the fireman on the top ladder of the fire engine. Kelly nodded and slowly stood up. He coughed loudly and you helped him over to the window. You watched him climb out before quickly moving into Matthew "Matthew baby! Can you hear me?" he mumbled something until suddenly a loud banging was heard "Y/N GET OUT OF THERE NOW! IT'S GOING TO EXPLODE-" as he said that the building completely blew up and before you could see what had happened you blacked out.

Matthews POV
I heard a loud bang. I flinched slightly and opened my eyes. Smoke filled my vision and I coughed soon realising I had a mask on. I looked to my right and saw y/n "oh crap! Y/n?!!" I yelled shaking her slightly I got no response so I quickly got up, picking her up in the process and rushing down the stairs.

As I got out of the building I collapsed and sent y/n off with the two paramedics before Kelly and Jay rushed over to me."dude are you OK?" I nodded and coughed "I'm alright" Kelly watched as the paramedics worked on me "Kelly don't look so worried" Kelly nodded and looked down. "you are fine" I smiled and nodded "Mr Casey... Your girlfriend is ready to he transported" I nodded and stood up rushing into the ambulance. I gripped her hand tightly and watched as she breathed in the oxygen "is she gonna be OK?" I asked. The paramedic smiled "yeah she's pulled through"

"Casey?" I looked up and smiled at Connor "hey dude" I said giving him a bro hug. "what you doing here?" I sighed "y/n... Haven't you heard?" Connor looked concerned "no...what happened." I sighed "y/n was in a burning building and she was trying to save me but it exploded" Connor made a face "oh god I'm so sorry" he said placing a hand on my shoulder I smiled and shook my head "no your fault con" Connor grinned "well duty calls" I smiled and watched as he rushed off. Gosh I hope y/n's OK.

"when do you think she'll wake up?" I asked looking at Dr Charles "there's really no time or date but I would say... Hopefully sometime today" as he said that y/n began moving about "y/n?" I asked gripping her hand. "m-Matthew I'm so sorry I didn't save you in time... Are we in heaven or am I visiting you because I'm in hell" she said sadly without opening her eyes "y/n you're in the hospital" Dr Charles said "Matthew?!!" she opened her eyes and looked around worriedly "I-I'm not alive! No one is!" she yelled now panicking. Suddenly the machines began beeping. "nurse!" a nurse rushed in and gave y/n some sedation medicine. Her muscles began to relax and her eyes slowly closed. I cupped her face in my hands and kissed her lips softly
