"MOTHERFUCKER,
FUCK SCHOOL."

evie was nothing but confused as she watched the boy talk and play with his friends. "bitch, what the fuck?" she spoke to herself, finally managing to pull her eyes from off of him. she didn't know what was wrong with him but she thought he was weird. i mean, who wouldn't after the strange stunt he pulled in the car?

stokeley had noticed the slight perplexed look on his cousin's face; he had been the same way before he got used to the 'episodes'. he used his elbow to bump her arm, "i'll explain all that shit later. imma walk you to the office when the bell ring, come with me for now though." he said, not giving her a chance to say yes or no but she didn't really have a choice anyway because where would she go? she didn't know anybody else at the school.

he walked to where his friends were, where jahseh was, mean mugging everybody that stepped in front of him. it was something about freshmans he despised even though he was in their shoes before, but the way that they overdramatically did everything blew him. "move, damn. doing the fuckin' most early in the mornin'." he spoke rudely to a group of girls who were talking loudly, walking slowly past him.

a girl in the front of the group with a small bag of hot cheetos licked her fingers and turned to him yelling, "don't talk to me or my friends like that again or imma tell my brother."

evie had to step in at that point because the young girl was doing too much and she wasn't about to speak to her favorite cousin in a disrespectful tone in front of her. nope, not while she was there and if she had to bully some kids with him then so be it. "you and your friends can pipe down and move the fuck on. he wouldn't have spoken to any of you if you weren't being so loud." she barked, moving two of her fingers like legs to motion for them to go. "and get yo brother. do you give a fuck, stoke?"

stokeley stood tall behind her with his hand slightly covering his mouth so he wouldn't bust out laughing from how serious everything escalated. he hadn't really seen his cousin in years—only at two or three family gatherings—and missed her greatly. even though he was older, she still carried herself like she was the big cousin, jumping into every argument and going down the throat of anyone who even thought to speak to him with bass in their voice. she had done that when they were kids and if it came down to it, he would do the same for her. "hell nah!"

"neither do i. bye."

the girl didnt have any more to say, she was more of an all bark and no bite kind of girl and evie had no problem fighting on the first day if necessary. she only rolled her eyes and lead her group away, becoming quieter while she was at it. evie turned on her heels to be greeted by a stokeley who couldn't hold in his laughter any longer.

"you so meannnnn, jit. where did that come from cause yo' mom nice as fuck. you like a lil demon or some shit. i know yo' future kids gon hate you." stokeley joked as they approached the group. evie snickered, looking down at the front part of her converse before shrugging her shoulders. "boy, shutup."

the 'boys' were a group of four, not including stokeley. there was a tall darkskin with a huge birthmark on his cheek, a shorter lightskin boy with dark blue dreads, a white girl with silver hair and too much jewelry to be at school, and finally there was jahseh. "this is my cousin evie. evie, this the gang."

they would seem like the most unlikely of friends because of how different each of them looked and dressed. she could tell that the dark skin and the girl wore more designer stuff but not too hypebeast-ish, jahseh threw on anything, and the lightskin was just street casual.
