2 Days Later
3rd Person POV
"Addie, you in there?" Jesse stood outside her friend's house after knocking on the door three times.
Inside the house, Addie was asleep with her head on her desk surrounded by open books, the work in progress Mine Guard banner, and papers strewn on top. After knocking a second time, Ivy started barking to wake Addie up and she did, with a few papers sticking to her face and her glasses crooked on her face underneath them.
"I-I'm coming!" Addie pushing herself off the desk, accidentally placing her hand on the wet dye of the banner, and wiped the papers off her face and strengthened her glasses before patting Ivy on the head to make her stop barking as she opened the door.
"Hey, you doing alright?" Jesse asked concerningly.
"Y-yeah, I just-" Addie yawned right in the middle of her sentence before snapping out of it, "I've just been doing a lot of research and creative work."
"Well, I came to check on you and to tell you that tomorrow-"
"Is the lunar eclipse celebration, I know."
"Yeah, and I heard from the Jack and Sadie that you're going to be designing their official banner. How's it going?"
"Oh you know, it's going..." Addie trailed off as she wiped her face and left a streak of blue across it.
"You have a little... stuff on your face." Jesse pointed to her face to indicate the color streak, but Addie just smeared it even more as she tried to wipe it off.
"What's going on Addie? I know you're usually scatter minded, but this is a whole new level, even for you." Jesse asked with concern clear in her voice.
"Ugh..." Addie put a hand to her forehead in exhaustion as she let Jesse into her house with Ivy whining, distressing over her guardian.
"Woah, you've been really busy..." Jesse picked up some of the papers that lay across Addie's desk that had diagrams of a special ritual with a red moon at the top center of the paper and lists of possible potion ingredients for "darkness monster repellant" as scribbled across the top.
"Jesse, the night of the lunar eclipse marks 1000 years since Torvo was banished and I think, based on what Mel told me, that he planned for his creation, Madegno, to come to life that night, so I've been doing research on how to stop that from happening."
"Should we cancel the celebration?" Jesse asked worriedly.
"No no no you won't have to cancel anything," Addie was quick to assure Jesse as she waved her hands rapidly, "I'll just need to perform this incantation and ritual at the peak of the lunar eclipse."
"Do you need any help with it?"
"No, I just need you to keep the people away from the garden, where I'll be performing the spell, until it's finished and Madegno is re-banished."
"Ok I can do that." Jesse told Addie determinedly.
"In the meantime, I should really finish the Mine Guard's banner." Addie motioned to the half-finished work that had her handprint on it.
"And you might want to wash up before that dye dries." Jesse smiled.
"Too late..."
"Hey Jesse!" The two heard Lukas' voice from below.
"Axel, Olivia, J, and Petra said they'd all be here for tomorrow's celebration!"
"Awesome! I'll be right down!" Jesse called down, "I better go help get ready for the celebration." Jesse told Addie as she started to walk down the stairs.
