Thankfully the way home was short. She hadn’t acquired a car yet so walking and taxi’s had been her only transportation up to this point. Tears ran down her face and sobs poured out of her the whole time she was running. She ran up to her porch fumbling with her keys, dropping them once finally she managed to unlock her door. Running inside she slammed the door behind her and locked every lock she had. Max sensing something was wrong runs up concern in his eyes. Even he can’t comfort her as she lets him out into the fenced in backyard. Slowly she turns back around after locking the door and makes her way to the bathroom. Once again looking in the small mirror what she sees stops her in her tracks.
Blood covers her torso. Her shirt is soaked all the way through, so are her arms and worst of all her cheeks, her mind goes blank as she peels off her clothes slowly and steps into a hot shower. Unable to cry anymore, she was out of tears she stands in the hot water mind completely blank. Knowing she would cry more in the morning she shuts off the water flinching as the cold sets in again. She didn’t get out just stood there and dripped for a moment.
Realizing she was still covered in blood she turns the water back on feeling the cold turn into hot again. Feeling the hot water run down her back she sees Do’s death again; how his skin got paler and paler until his pale skin turned to gray and his veins popped out. How his breathing went from quick and vital to shallow and labored until his last breath left him, his bloody hand leaving hers, falling to his side. The look of peace he had in his last moment, even a tear left his eyes just before he died.
Looking up she realized she was on the floor, not even noticing when it happened, slamming her head against the shower wall causing more blood to fall down her face making and her feel dizzy. Probably gave herself a concussion. Now she finally understood what it was like to be a Mary Sue, it was impossible not to be after going through an ordeal like that. How do you even deal with a situation like that?
God she was helpless! She thought to herself. Even now she was just letting herself bleed all over the floor. She should be trying to stop the bleeding. Should she even call 911? Maybe Do would still be alive if it wasn’t for her helplessness. She heard her phone alarm go off. It wasn’t to take her medicine. Holy shit that meant she had been in the shower for an hour! As she pulled herself up out of her funk a little she realized in a rush that the water had turned ice cold. Quickly jumping out, she made sure all the blood was off of her this time and turned off the water. Slowly she wrapped a towel around her and made her way to her bedroom, once she entered she looked up and let out a horrifying scream.
Do was sitting on her bed.
For a moment she just stood there and stared mouth wide open. Then he disappeared as quick as she could blink. She searched her room, 911 ready and waiting on her phone. He had been bloodied and everything exactly as he’d been the moment he died just—alive.
Oh my God, she was going insane.
