They sat in uncomfortable silence. The tension was in the enclosed space of the car could be cut eith a knife but Joanna didn't dare to say a word.
About fifteen minutes later, the scary looking man's phone broke the silence. He answered the phone in a deep voice "yes boss". Joanna tried to eavesdrop but could only hear one side of the conversation. "Yes boss, I have her", he paused mid-conversation then he said "We'll be there in less than an hour".
He hang up the phone and the silence continued as he continued driving. Joanna could not take the silence anymore and so her curiousity overcame her fear of 'the scary looking man' and she carefully tapped him on his shoulder. The man tensed up under her touch but still did not uttter a word.
She wasn't ready to give up yet and so she said to the man "hey dude.....what's your name". The man still did not respond but Joanna noticed that he furrowed his eyebrows.
Joanna though that the man must have not heard what she had said and so she asked the man slowly "what-is-your-name". The man didn't respond.Their was no emotion on his face.
Joanna was not ready to give up yet. "Who were you talking to on the phone? Was it Chris Brown?" She asked excitedly. The man ignored her and so she got very annoyed.
"Didn't your parents teach you manners or weren't you paying attention" she said angrily.
The man stopped the car suddenly causing Joanna to go forward. She gripped the back of the man's seat to get her balance as she sat back on her seat. She looked up only the meet an angry looking man.
"If you want to remain alive You better watch your tone young girl" he said furiously. Joanna took heed to his warning and sat quietly as the man started to drive again.
Fidteen minutes later they arrived at a house that was huge but it was old and had a creepy look to it. "Get out" the man instructed her. She got her suitcase and hurriedly got out of the car, the man followed suit.
"Is this where Chris Brown lives?" She asked to no one in particular. "Shut up little girl" the scary looking man spat, his voice laced with venom. The man marched angrily to the front of the house and Joanna followed him like a lost puppy.
