“Okay, Mr. Wright. What did you want to talk to me about?” Danieshine asked as he sat down near my desk.
“Right,” I leaned closer to him, and with an almost whisper-like tone, began telling him of my plans.
“Since we both disagree with the shameful acts of our government, I was thinking we could fix that. I was thinking of st-”
“And how would we do that?” he interrupted. I gave him a look.
“I was getting to that. I was thinking that maybe we could start some sort of organisation that could help people realize the problem. I already have a few things sorted ou-”
“Ooo, could I be the one who names it? I’ve always to start some-”
“Danieshine!” I snapped. “Hold on a second, okay?” It seemed like the kid wasn’t as quiet as I’d thought. He nodded and started sulking. I groaned inwardly.
“As I was saying, I’ve been working on something that I think would make some good changes. We could start a group that would help give people knowledge about the government. We could start marches and protests, like the things I taught you in history,” I rambled on for a while until finally dying down.“That sounds great and all, but how exactly are we going to do this? Everyone in the country thinks so highly of the government, if you make even the slightest negative remark, you’ll be picking your teeth out of your a-” Danieshine began, but I cut him off.
“Watch it. And that’s the thing that makes this whole operation a bit more complicated.”“How about we go around and ask people to join?” He asked in all serious. I gave him a look.
“We can’t just do that. Like you said, if people hear you talking bad about the government they’ll surely be upset,” I explained.
“Have you got anything better?”“No, but we’re definitely not going to do that. We’ll have to come up with something else.” I looked at the clock. “You should head out. We’ll have to discuss more about this somewhere else. Come to the school library after dark tomorrow. I’ll unlock the doors for you.” He nodded as he began to leave.. “Don’t let anyone see you,” I told him. “I won’t,” he shouted as he walked out of the door.

I was sitting at my desk still trying to figure out how I was going to approach this. Just then, Mr. Black walked in. I internally rolled my eyes. “That was a good lesson today, Nuada,” he told me. “Thank you.” He roamed around the room “It’s good to see children learning what they really need to learn in life.” I nodded softly, wondering what he was getting at. “ I think they made good progress today. However, some seem to be a little...contaminated,” he stated, making me jerk my head up towards him.
“What?” I asked him. “Those mini lessons you were teaching them. The questioning of the government. It seems to have diluted them. They’re starting to question things and I don’t like it one bit. As your supervisor, I plan on helping you out a bit,” he explained. “Thank you, sir, but I really don’t nee-” he cut me off. “Don’t worry about it. I strive to help the citizens of this country. Say, have you heard of subliminal messages?”
“No, but I’m sure you’ll tell me about them,” I replied.
“Subliminal messages are affirmations hidden under music. Those affirmations reach your subconscious mind in order to change your thoughts and sometimes appearances! They come in pretty handy for teacher,” he explained. I gave him a look. I already wasn’t comfortable with what I was teaching, I most certainly wasn’t going to try and brainwash them even more.
“Erm, I don’t really think that’s a good idea. I’ve got it under control, Mr.Black,” I explained calmly. He gave me a hard look. “Do you really think that after what you’ve done you have a choice? I’m your supervisor, it’s best you listen to me.” I sighed softly and stared at my desk. Mr. Black reached into his pocket and pulled out a few medicine bottles.
“These should help, as well.”
I grabbed one of the bottles and looked at the label. I felt my blood boil. It was mind numbing medicine. We usually give it to students who don’t fully believe in what we teach. It makes them easily influenced. I wanted to tell him off. To tell him that his government doesn’t know what they’re doing and that he’s a fool to believe them. But by doing that, I’d be the fool. Instead of doing that, I silently nodded and waited for him to exit the room. After I was sure he was gone, I grabbed the pill bottles and chucked them across the room, causing a loud bang to echo. This whole thing just got even harder.
